A question: since we currently have an autumn poetry readalong of Seamus Heaney's works, I was thinking about turning that into a tradition and have a readalong for a different poet each season. For winter I was thinking about Anna Akhmatova but we could also gather a few ideas together and vote on a winter poet. What do you think?

I like the idea. A season gives plenty of time & by doing it by author gives each person the option of how much (or little) they want to read. However, I am lukewarm about the idea of another thing to vote on - I would rather just have you choose!
Yes, I'd also prefer someone else to choose. That way we get to read poets we wouldn't necessarily try otherwise.
I agree with Gill and Leslie, I love that members do get the choice but I do feel that with poetry, we can use this opportunity to jump out of our comfort zones a bit. I am also a bit wary of the polls for this one as someone might pick a poet with not a lot to stretch across three-four months.
I think this is a great idea, just need to push myself to actually read the poems and not just buy the collections!
I can't promise I'll follow you: it much depends on which poetry will be chosen!!! I'm a bit lazy with verses!!!
