Oh. What is sub textual lesbianism?

Alec It's mentioned and hinted at in the first two books, but not spoken outright as it was in the Victorian era and therefore not really allowed. In the third book she writes it in as them being together and kissing and such. I thought it was a good historical representation of lgbt because back then they couldn't just be out and not have any repercussions, they had to keep it a secret. But if you're looking for a lesbian romance, this is not one, it's not very romantic for that pair.

So they're secondary characters, then?

SherryRose They're important characters but their relationship was a small part of the story. It was kept secret for most of the story.
