Bwahahahaha! OMG, I remembered a video on Filipino tutorials a way back about Pinoy pronunciation. Haha! Yeah, the "f" and the "p".
hahaha I remember! It was hilarious! That guy is funny too. Though, even if it's funny kinda makes me cringe a little bit when I hear some Flip teenagers here who make fun of their parents because of the "P" & "F"..... Don't they know it's a deficiency? "P" & "F" deficiency hehehe :D
I'm at 13% and I'm loving how the author is describing the slum areas of Manila. I'm thinking maybe he had first-hand experience in being in those places.
Geri - Oh excited to get to that part! He's actually never been to Manila. I read an interview with him and he said he interviewed Filipinos (that he know) and then also used Google for images.

Haha! I just read that part. Tup!
Vera wrote: "Geri - Oh excited to get to that part! He's actually never been to Manila. I read an interview with him and he said he interviewed Filipinos (that he know) and then also used Google for images."Really? OMG, but the way he wrote it was like he was really there. :D

And the "ppffuck." LoL!
4% Learned something new about enlisting. I thought you had to be in the Navy to become SEAL but apparently you can apply as a civilian. Oh.
Vera wrote: "Geri - Oh excited to get to that part! He's actually never been to Manila. I read an interview with him and he said he interviewed Filipinos (that he know) and then also used Google for images."That's pretty impressive!

Kim & Geri - That's what I read before from one of the blogs. Yes, it is impressive! And at the same time, I guess technology is pretty awesome & scary that they cover all places in the world! hahaha
Kim wrote: "4% Learned something new about enlisting. I thought you had to be in the Navy to become SEAL but apparently you can apply as a civilian. Oh."
Hmmm I did not know that either. I thought that's why there's one called Navy Seals???
Vera wrote: "I'm wondering if someone will say [spoilers removed]"Or (view spoiler) LoL!
I'm at 37% and it's action packed. I'm really amazed at the research he has done. He's even named the streets there.
♥~♥Geri's~EverAfterRomance ♥~♥ wrote: "Kim wrote: "OMG Geri! You read so fast!"And I'm reading with a Filipino accent, too! LOL!"
LMAO! I should do that too.
Have you guys seen Rex Navarete? His videos are hilarious!

Yup! I'm 47% and again, very impressed with him incorporating the Filipino language in and the places.
Kim wrote: "13% I wonder if this is really Manila's most famous feature -> "...the shantytown slumbering beneath the shadowy bulk of Smokey Mountain, the smoldering, two-story high hill of trash that was Man..."
It's easy to interchange the two sites, Kim. I know Smokey Mountain now is at least "rehabilitated." Were you still in the Philippines when that incident in Payatas happened?

That's probably it. And yes, I was still there when the tragic Payatas incident happened :( That was such a sad time even though I was too young to be angry then. Now I tend to blame faulty government efforts on the corrupt officials =|

Geri --- Holy guacamole Geri! I agree with Kim, you read so fast!!! And, yeah reading with Flip accent sounds good. hahaha :)
Kim - Yes he is funny. I saw his videos and watched him live once. IMO, I think he's funnier than Jo Koy - though I haven't watched him live.
Chel - wake up! :D
CHEL! Wakey wakey! I have to go to work soon so I'll probably continue this evening after I make dinner. Enjoy the rest of the book, ladies! :)
Got to the part with slums...I don't remember anything about the Payatas, except for that it's an awful tragedy... That's the one in QC right? I forget. Smokey is in Tondo? Ok, I agree with Stone (view spoiler)
Geri - he is HOT!!!

Vera, I believe you're right, my prend. Smokey Mtn is in Tondo & Payatas is in QC.
Finally Chel! :-) You're right very Taken like. Btw, you're making me laugh loud and I'm at work. LMAO!!!!
Diyos ko day, I'm stuck at 13%. You guys read so fast! Kaloka!
LMAO! Don't worry Vera. I'm a slowpoke. Only at 17% and won't be able to read again until after I've made dinner =\

LMAO! I thought at first he was describing that it's a nice hotel until I noticed that it was capitalized. Nice Hotel nga!!
I said I need to finish my work as I am on a deadline but I slept instead. Ha! But now I'm back. :D

Ex-Navy SEAL Stone Pressfield has a bad feeling about the proposed church missions trip to Manila, Philippines. The college-age church group plans to go to Manila and help victims of the sex-trafficking industry. Stone's lingering nightmare memories about the sex-trafficking industry have him warning church leaders that the trip is a bad idea. He knows all too well that it could end in violence, and those involved aren't to be trifled with.
When beautiful Wren Morgan goes missing, he has a sick feeling that he knows exactly who took her, and for what purpose. The problem is, Wren isn't just any other student. She's someone he's close to, someone he cares about. Now she's in the hands of cruel, evil men, and Stone is the only one who can rescue her before the unthinkable happens.
