“Josie, the seventeen-year-old daughter of a French Quarter prostitute, is striving to escape 1950 New Orleans and enroll at prestigious Smith College when she becomes entangled in a murder investigation.” I did not want to put it down. The book read like a movie or a Mickey Spillane book made into a movie. Even though the setting is a brothel it is not “sexy”. Girl power / murder mystery.
