I have returned!! Yeah, banning can be quite effective if you do it the right way. Anyways I like what you did but you might want to throw in age and an other section (as in likes, dislikes etc.) Also do you want me to do a guy since you have a girl?
And hybrid of?? Possibly be more specific.
Also want my character to have some sort of ability or just be normal.
I'll be a bit more specific soon I was in a bit of a rush. You don't have to do a guy. I know it's role play but since it's just us we could make up a fake guy later if we want.
Your character can be whatever you want. What age are you thinking?
LIKES: trustworthy people, the color blue, picklesDISLIKES: liars, the color orange, Indian food
HYBRID: Not completely sure but she thinks she is part fey because she has an almost impossible time lying.
Name: Vincent Rivers Gender: M
Age: 16
Appearance: Short black hair, green eyes, medium tone skin, average height.
Personality: He is very solitary and unsocial but, not necessarily shy. He doesn't really like to talk to people and when he does he seems very cold. He is very studious and actually quite adventurous if you really get to really know him.
History/Background: He had a pretty normal life growing up. Nothing really special happened until the changes started to occur. At that point he didn't really know how to act and quickly became the outcast of the family. Because of that situation he started to become closed off from his friends and everyone else eventually, in a sense, becoming invisible. As for his family life of now, he only can feel that they are all just strangers living in the same house.
Species: Shape-shifter, panther.
Likes: The quiet, books, History, color green
Dislikes: Crowds, color yellow, seafood
What do you think? Sorry for all the to be decided things. I'll be editing in a few. Oh, and sorry for all the lateness. My cat got outside.
Ahhh, is your cat okay? How do you want them to meet? Where does Vincent live? I can have Lane living in that city for whatever reason and we can work out how they meet.
Yeah, we spent like 30 min. looking for her when she was just laying down behind a bush in our backyard :/Hmm, school seems like a good place. Man, I feel like this is a giant cliché waiting to happen. Do you have any ideas?
Well at least she hadn't run too far.I don't know. Lane is a runaway she wouldn't be going to school.
How could it be uncliche? Any brilliantly original ideas?
Oh and what city?
Ok I decided. Its not the best but its what I got. As for it not being school, how about a library? Small café or restaurant where you can easily meet someone maybe. As for cities not really sure. I was thinking something small and somewhat remote. Don't have a substantial idea though.
Okay, Maybe she could try to pickpocket him or something. How about a town called Clearwater. Sleepy little place where nothing happens and Vincent is a total outcast. Then Lane shows up and stirs everything up.
East coast, West coast or Mid west?
Okay, I'm not super familiar with the east coast. Do you want to do like Maine?Oh and First person present of third person past?
What are you familair with?I just picked it cause Washington coastal towns are foggy, and small and kinda creepy. It seemed like a good paranormal setting.
Oka, I'll start then.As I get off of the bus in Coldwater the first thing I notice is a strange, eerie tingle that runs up my spine. The second thing I notice is that it's really cold out here and I'm wearing the thinnest sweater ever. I hike my backpack higher on my left shoulder and make for the closest welcoming building.
The Coldwater cafe has a sign in the window that says now hiring. Maybe I can get a job.
(view spoiler)
I couldn't help my sigh. Its been hours and still there's the same few people just sitting there. Hearing the bell from the door I decided to walk out of the kitchen. I noticed a girl Iv never seen before enter the little café. Walking up to the counter to greet her I examined her wondering where she was from. I was almost positive I knew everyone in this town. "How may I help you," I asked in a curious yet bored voice.
I look up from the slightly greasy menu I am perusing at the sound of a voice. It's a boy, my age with black hair and green eyes. He is wearing a uiform that looks like the menu I'm holding, slightly greasy. His voice manges to convey interest in my presence and also make it sound like he could care less. The oxymoron intrigues me.
"What's good?" I ask.
Ugh, why can't people just order and be on their way. But then again... Glancing at her I thought that maybe I could get some information. Wait, why do I even care so much? New people come all the time, I thought. "I'm fine thank you for asking. If you don't mind, did you just move here?" I asked attempting to keep things formal and bland not really wanting to convey the true nature of my inquisitive thoughts.
I tried not to sigh. "Glad you're doing good," I crane my head to read his name tag. "Vin, but 'I'm fine thank you for asking' doesn't sound very appetizing." I tried not to smirk. "How about you bring me a ham sandwhich with a root beer and I'll answer your nosy little questions." It really wasn't a question. I slide the menu across the counter to him and cross one lep over the other.
His move.
I couldn't help the flicker of annoyance that probably showed prominently on my face at that moment. How dare she presume this stuff about me, speak to me like this? "Well, its in my job description to sound polite. Whether or not it sounds appetizing to you is not my problem." Writing down her order and grabbing the menu I finished off attempting to mask my actual curiosity "I don't really need your answer, its called making conversation, if you ever heard of that." Walking back to the kitchen as if nothing had happened, I wondered why I responded so much to those little remarks. It's not like me to get so mad at something so little. Oh well I guess its just a one time thing, I thought as I began making her sandwich.
Oh crap. I thought as he walked away. I hope he doesn't spit in my food. But a smile crept it's way across my face despite myself. he was curious no matter how much he tried to hide it. My plan hadn't originally been to draw attention to myself but what could one person taking notice of me really do? It's not like anyone was going to find me here. I'm states away in the town of nowheresvill USA.
I decided to officially ignore this person as I walked back. I placed the sandwich and drink her table. "I'll bring you your bill once you finish eating, enjoy your meal." I said with a slight nod of acknowledgement, beginning to walk away.
"I just stepped off the bus." I told him while at the same time taking a bite of my hopefully sanitary sandwhich. "So yeah I guess you could say I moved here. If you consider a ratty backpack moving day." I took another bit and waited to see if he was curious enough to turn around.
With a sigh I turned around. "It's really none of my business. " Glancing at the old tattered backpack on the floor I couldn't help but ask," Do you even have somewhere to stay?"
"Nope." i said casually. "I really am not even completely sure where I am. I just stayed on the bus until I was the only passenger and even the driver looked confused as to where we were. Then I stepped off and I was here." I took a sip of my soda and cringed at the carbonation. I began stirring it in attempt to make it go flat. "I suppose I could find a beach to sleep on until I find a job and a place to stay." I mused to myself, out loud.
I knew I should do something. I don't really want to help this person who is already beyond irritating. But, I guess everyone has to do something gracious once in a while. "If you need a place to stay that bad, you can come to my house for a day or two but, that's it." I said the last portion with emphasis so she wouldn't think she could just stay for however long.
I rested my elbows on the counter and looked across at him. he's insane was my first thought.
Taking another sip of my mostly flat soda I asked him. "What makes you think I'm not some kind of serial killer?" Then thinking twice I said. "Okay, thanks. I'll be gone before you know it."
With raised eyebrows I replied with a mocking tone. "This is what you have to say? I'm trying to be helpful. Plus, I doubt a serial killer would say 'I'm possible killer beware of me'." Not that it would really matter, I conceived. Personally I don't see the point of living that much. I don't really make any contribution to the actual world itself, so what's the point? "Well, my shift ends in 20 if your willing to wait." I said dismissing my thoughts.
I shrugged. I had nowhere to be. "Oooh, one more thing." I paused and thought some. "No,two more things. One, are you a serial killer? Two, can I have a job?"
"No I am not and no you can't have a job. There isn't really a need for anyone else to work here with the lack of people who actually come to this place." Thinking back on what we were discussing earlier, "Since your going to be staying in my home, I think I should at least know your name."
"Lane." I extended a hand. "Oh and if I am going to be staying with you maybe I should know your last name. Background checks and such." I smiled, hopefully in a nonoffensive way. "You know if I'm going home with you and I'm probably gooing to be seeing quite a bit of you because I'm going to be in here constantly, trying to get a job; I think we are going to have to learn to get along." I tilted my head to the side like I was thinking.I actually did like this guy. It was interesting talking tonhim because he was equal parts curiosity and indifference. He was quick om the draw and interesting to look at.
I smiled again. Maybey Coldwater would be interesting after all.
((Gtg, it's like almost one in the morning. You can p;ost the next part and I'll try to get on tomorrow.))
I did not like the way she was looking at me was my first thought. Wait, she still wants a job? "What part of no do you not understand? I already said we don't need anyone else to work here, it would be pointless to hire you." Glancing down at her backpack which looked quite empty I said "I don't think you have anything that will help you with that 'background check' of yours. But, my last names Rivers."
I smiled even bigger. "Yeah I heard you when you said no that word just happens not to be in my vocabulary. Oh, and there's a help needed sign in the window." I thought about what he said his last name was. "Would you mind if I called you Riv?"
"Vin? Riv? Do you not have the ability to say full words?" I said extremely annoyed that she kept pushing for a job. " Oh, and guess what? No, is in my vocabulary. The help needed sign was something Iv been meaning to take down." I finished off walking away for a second to remove the sign.
I sighed. He was a tough nut to crack. I followed him to the window. "I can say full words yes I just prefer not to. Supercalafrajalisticexpealadoious. See, big word." I wasn't going to give up on this job thing. I figured I had time though. I wasn't planning on leaving any time soon.
I walked back to the counter to put the sign away. "Oh, congratulations." I said simply, getting tired of talking to this girl. "Well, my shifts almost over I just have to pack up some and we're off." I started wondering why I'm even helping her. All she has done is pester me. I grabbed her bill and put it on her table as I went to close up noticing everyone leaving.
he walked away I looked at the bill. I dug out the cash I had brought when I left and frowned. I had enough but it was going to run out soon. I needed a job badly. Maybe if I could get him to like me I could talk him into it. I laid the paid bill back on the counter and tucked the money in my backpack.
I quickly walked back to her table to grab her bill. Placing everything where it needed to be I grabbed my bag and flipped the open sign to closed. Walking back up to her I asked "Ready?"
