For December 2013 the theme is CHRISTMAS!

Rules:
1. Nominations are open until the 14th of the month. I will let us know which book has "won" on the 15th.
2. Books must be Christian fiction, or "clean" fiction to be eligible for this read.
3. Books are chosen using Random.org to make it completely fair.
4. One nomination per person. If two people nominate the same book, each person's vote counts. So the book will feature twice in the list to give each vote an equal chance.
5. Books must be the first in a series unless we have read the previous book.
6.The following books are not eligible because we have read them in past years. (See list below)
7. Please only nominate Amish Christmas books on the Amish group read. This will prevent us from reading the same book for both reads.
Christmas Mail-Order Brides Four Mail-Order Brides Travel the Transcontinental Railroad in Search of Love by Susan Page Davis A Log Cabin Christmas 9 Historical Romances during American Pioneer Christmases by Wanda E. Brunstetter The Doctor's Christmas by Marta Perry The Bridge by Karen Kingsbury Call Me Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber

Nominations so far:
1.Merry's Christmas: a love story by Susan Rohrer (MB)
2. My Kind of Christmas by Robyn Carr (Natalie)
3. Skipping Christmas: Christmas with The Kranks by John Grisham (Brittany)
4. A Christmas Gift For Rebecca by Sarah Price (Rosebud)
5. The Christmas Waltz by Connie Keenan (Barbara Ann)
6. A Riverwalk Christmas: Four Couples Find Love in Romantic San Antonio (Melissa)
7. The Christmas Waltz by Connie Keenan (Melissa)
8. The Christmas Waltz by Connie Keenan (Diane)
9. Starry Night: A Christmas Novel by Debbie Macomber (Anna)

@ Natalie I like to go ahead and get on the waiting list for books that people nominate in case they get picked. I got to the top of the waiting list for this one real quick. I have never read any Virgin River novels before, will that matter or will I be able to get into the book real quick?

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 1132 comments @Lorie: I don't think it matters.

I think this one can probably read as a standalone as it only briefly features the characters from the previous books, and a lot is summarised. But I don't think I'd consider the Virgin River series entirely clean--there's at least one sex scene and a few instances of swearing in this book, if I remember correctly. It didn't bother me, but I thought it might be worth mentioning for others.

Good to know. Thanks Rachel.

Also today is last day to nominate. Rachel will pick one tomorrow.

Also since Anna never came back, I will go with her first book she listed unless someone has a problem with this or she comes back and decides which one she wants to nominate.

I don't know why Rachel did not pick yesterday. I know she said she was having some computer problems so I'll go ahead and randomally pick the winner.

#5 The Christmas Waltz by Connie Keenan

Thanks for picking this one Barbara Ann and I think it's still free for anyone needing it.

Thanks, Lorie! I came down with a horrible cold yesterday and barely went near my computer. I don't think I actually registered what the date was until this morning.
