Partners will be randomly assigned. Each partner will chose a book from their partner's to-read shelf (or any other shelf you choose, such as "owned", "ebooks", etc.,) to read for the month.

If you wish to participate for December, please comment below. Partners will be announced on or around November 20.

Gabriella Gricius (advocate0802) | 7 comments Okay! Sounds good.

So For Karin: I'm not sure if you've read Dr. Strange and Mr. Norrell because it was rated on your "to-read" page, but if you haven't, you absolutely should. :) It's so so good and I could barely put it down, It's one of those books that is crazily long, but it's perfect for the snowy days outside, I promise! And if you have read it, Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet is a moving novel, and it's depiction of what I've only read about in History books is a fantastic read.

And for Hassam, Hmm ok. You have so many books I was overwhelmed, but they were all so good! But my recommendation for next month is The Night Circus. It's a really fun book that has some amazing descriptions (seriously when you get to Cloud Room, It's so incredible), and It's a fantastic book for wintertime!

I'm actually just about to finish the book ! so you might want to recommend me another one :) - loved the book though it was awesome and a bit different.

Tigana - the one i chose for you which i might actually read to sometime later, looks interesting.

Also i don't know if i should choose one for Karin.

Ah okay haha. I will definitely pick another one then. I see the Thirteenth Tale and The Graveyard Book. They are both SUCH good reads, really depends if you want to read a literary book that kind of sucks you in through the writing style (13th Tale), or a sort of strange book that you grow strangely attached to the characters during (Graveyard). So take your pick!

And I'm glad you liked The Night Circus, it's definitely one of my favorites :)

Excellent! I've been wanting to read that book for a while, excited for December to come around.

Emily I'm going to read Around the World in Eighty Days and Jess is going with The Picture of Dorian Gray. (We're going all "classics" this month!)

I'm not sure how a grouping of three works either - so I'll pick for both Gabriella and Hassam too and then it will give you two books to read in December (if you want). And Hassam...please pick a book for me too - I'm always looking for recommendations!

Gabriella - I haven't read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (not sure why it was showing up as rated) so I will definately add this to the list for December. There was only one book on your list that I have read and luckily it was a great one...so for you I pick The Fault in Our Stars. I really enjoyed this book.

Hassam - there were so many that I wanted to pick for you...but I narrowed it down to Me Before You (one of my favorites from this year)or The Light Between Oceans - good historical fiction!

I picked Anybody Out There? - love the Walsh family and their antics , hope you like it too.

I'll be reading the Thirteenth tale and The light between oceans.

I chose The Hot Zone for Jarred and he chose A Short History of Nearly Everything for me.

I loved The Thirteenth Tale! Hope you enjoy it!

message 17: by Karin (new)

Karin (karindem55) I finished Anybody Out There? over the weekend and really enjoyed it - I think it was my favorite of the Walsh series (and it helped me with a bunch of challenges) Thanks for picking it Hassam!

Hassam Sheikh (Wraith000) Lucky pick, loved the 13th tale myself - even made a friend get it.
