Unsounded took me a while to get into: I tried to read it once and didn't get far before I decided that I didn't like it. But it kept getting recommended to me, so I read it again. I'm so glad that I gave it another shot. It's super awesome. The characters are all diverse and interesting. There's some really great art here: the setting are very detailed. In some later chapters, there is some beautiful coloring and really unique page layouts. This comic has a lot going for it and there's been a lot of cool stuff going on lately.
I discovered Unsounded age ago, back when it was only part way through chapter 2. I can't remember how I found it, just that I read everything there was and fell instantly in love with it. The art is perfect, the story is perfect, the characters are perfect (in non-perfect ways, if you get what I mean)... it's all just so perfect. It's hard to believe that something of this quality is available for free. Not only that, but it updates three days a week, and to my knowledge Ashley has never missed an update (although she sometimes skips an update after a double page update, but she'll pre-warn you). I especially love the humour mixed in with the darker and more serious themes, and the magic system is very well thought out and makes a lot more sense than most. The world is detailed and believable, and the different cultures are fascinating. There are so many reasons I would recommend this webcomic. It is easily my favourite.
As far as its NSFW rating goes, although it does contain violence, occasional gore and the odd boob, it's mostly pretty safe.
If you're a fan of the comic, it can be useful to check Ashley's formspring, as a lot of extra details are often explained there.
Good to hear it develops as it goes. Read chapter one and while I like the style and the world/story have potential, my main takeaway is that Sette annoys me. I'm interested enough to keep going though.

She becomes less arrogant and more friendly as the comic goes on. She's still fairly brash throughout, though :)
She does tone it down some in later chapters. Also, as more characters are introduced, she'll get less screen time anyway.
I understand lots of people don't like Sette (I actually find her hilarious, but each to their own), but to those who have read it, can I ask who your favourite character is?
Duane. Hands down. I love the stoic, straight-man characters. And with the most recent chapters with him, it's hard not to love him. After that I'd probably say Matty and his dad(who's name escapes me at the moment). I love magic too to not like them.
Read chapter 2. Wow that was intense. And disturbing. Lots of interesting threads to explore in future chapters and Sette is already becoming less grating.

Daughter of the Lord of Thieves, Sette Frummagem is on a mission, and she'll lie, cheat, and steal to make sure it's a success (she'll lie, cheat, and steal anyway). Condemned to aid her in her rotten endeavours is a rotten corpse who seems oddly talented with the supernatural, and oddly not laying motionless in the dirt.
The road is long and no one is what they seem. Never trust a thief, and never trust anyone who won't let you look into their eyes.
