Rose Drayton lives on the Edge, the place between both worlds. A perilous existence indeed, made even more so by a flood of magic-hungry creatures bent on absolute destruction.

On the Edge by Ilona Andrews is our SERIES PICK until we either complete the series, or as a group we decide we'd rather read something else. Let us know what you think in the thread below!

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) | 26 comments I read the first book, and I thought it was quite good. I thought the world that was created was unique. I thought the ending was a little fairy-tale'ish for my liking, and I've only read the first book, though.

I've been wanting to dive into Ilona Andrew's world, so I'm hoping to actually READ the book I downloaded :-) Fairytale endings, huh? You ever read the ORIGINAL versions of some of the fairy tales? Usually not the happy endings we have today. :-P

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) | 26 comments LOL that's true! Though, the fairy tale ending could all be a ruse...I have to continue reading to see if everything is really as good as it seems. :)

Just don't ever attend a SciFi/Fantasy convention staffed with feminists and then attend a 'myth and fairytale' seminar. Oof! Talk about having all your happy childhood illusions ripped away like a bloody scab! Little mermaid? Cast herself into the sea and turned to seafoam (no happy ending). Little Red Riding Hood ... since this is a YA-inclusive thread I won't even GO there. :-P

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) | 26 comments You're too funny! There's a lot of rot and ruin in the traditional fairy tales...I think it was more a way to make kids behave than to entertain. :)
