Discussion thread for part 4

Overall It's a good book. The ideas and attention to physics details were good. The characters were flat and the dialogue was weak.

How I would have ended the book: have Rod go and try to persuade to Moties to join or face extermination. Things are tense and then they kill him and his landing party (which includes Renner and Cargill). The Empire glasses the planet, wipes out all Moties in the asteroid belt and sweeps the system. If you want sequel potential then the nearby star in the Coal Sack finishes forming and the book ends with Moties recovering from disorientation onboard that ship. Unsure if every caste should be there or not, but all the same it'd only be a handful of Moties there. At least one is Crazy Eddie. Fade to black.
