Riley appeared over a small pool. She and Greta fell into the lovely luke warm water with a splash. She grabbed Greta's hand and swam with her to the surface. Once there she said, "Oops, forgot about that part." Then she smirked.
Riley, dripping wet said "Syren Island, now you get to meet a mermaid." Riley then stripped out of her clothes, standing undaunted in her underwear. She layed her clothes out on the giant grey rock on the shore.
Riley straightened from laying out her clothes. She turned to Greta. "More that you would think."
Greta whipped her head around to look at the source of the noise, when a figure appeared out of a portal that looked like the one she and Riley had just emerged from.
Riley stepped in front of Greta. She looked with all her senses to this new arrival.
The figure that walked out of the portal was covered from head to toe in blood red armor, wielding a huge blood red sword.
Riley stayed alert. All her senses honed in one the stranger. She whispered behind her to Greta. "If I say run, you run, got it.?"
Riley, stood straight. Her eyes never wavering. She yelled out. "Friend or foe?"
Riley reached with her arm and shoved Greta back. She whispered fiercely, "It's not safe till I say so." Riley was still looking at the stranger, she yelled, "You will understand it when I say I don't believe you."
"I understand, the whole demonic voice and the armor is unnerving. I'll get rid of them" he said before his armor started to melt away.
Riley was interested in his ability. But by now she could guess he was a overlord. She turned to Greta and said "It's safe now." Before heading off and taking a seat on the rock, stretching out to get her limbs and hair dry. She looked over at Greta. "So you don't mind wet clothes huh?"
Brian's armor and sword had melted in to no more then a puddle of blood. He stretched "man its nice to not have that restricting armor on, you would not believe the cramp it give me." he said.
Greta glanced at how comfortable Riley looked, half naked in the presence of a guy. She then took off her sweater, but kept her pants and tank top on. She then eyed the puddle of red liquid at the man's feet, suppressing a shudder at what she thought it was. "So, why are you here?" she asked curiously. "Do people come here often?"
Riley was amused by Greta's uncomfortable nature. She too would have been mortified once. But she was after all 212 years old by now. That nature had worn away a long time ago. These two could be like babies compared to her. She knew the puddle was blood, she could smell it. It made her fangs tingle. She looked at the two of them, ready to intervene if anything happened.
"You're all pitiful." Said a voice from above. "How can you just trust ever person you meet? You're not even sure who they are." The person scoffed. "Making friends with a random stranger."
Riley nodded, ignoring the irratating voice in the sky. She looked at Greta and her expression. Then she wondered where that mermaid was. She asked to pass the time, "Why here thou? Or is your girlfriend a mermaid?"
Greta looked up, and was only partly surprised to see another figure above her. She was starting to get used to sudden appearances. She sat down on a rock, not as wary as she was before, despite the warning.
Only Riley's head remained down, she could sense what it was that was there, she smiled a coy smile.
"Nice to see you again Riley. You too Greta." She smirked and revealed herself from the shadows. "Remember me?" Sam said.
"Almost? I had an errand to run, so I had to leave for a second. Next thing I know, you're gone. Left with that vampire." She said. Then she continued, "You know I've been following you the whole time?"
"I kind of figured. Between the two worlds, there must've been a million other places you could've been instead of popping up around us all the time."
Riley cocked her head to the side. Looking on at the angel. She was starting to get annoyed with her houdini acts. Then she said, "Well then you know why we took a detour then." She said a little lazily.
"Well, I felt kind of guilty. I thought it was partially my fault for getting you into all of this. So, I wanted to make sure you got home safe." Sam confessed.
Riley laughed. "Oh you angels are too much. That's why I took the demon route." Her eyes sparkled with fondness.
"The reason I'm here is because I walked through a new door in my school basement. It's not your fault," Greta said to Sam kindly.
"Yes, I can see that." Sam said to Riley. Then she turned to Greta, even if it wasn't my fault, I still wanted to see that you made it home safely."
Brian tilled his head. "well an Angel, i have not seen to many of your kind present in the multiverse." he said
Riley laughed again, through chuckles she said, "Oh really? We haven't been able to get rid of that one!" Riley smiled, showing her fangs.
