Jax entered the diner with a rumbling stomach. It seemed like a rabid dog barking its way all night and when some of the patrons turned to look at him he just smiled, "Never would have thought that I'd be this hungry." He said in a charismatic tone as he led Vee to one of the remaining booths. The patrons just laughed and smiled as they turned back to their food. With a sigh, he dragged a hand through his hair as he sat down on the red seat with a plop.
"Oh please, you guys are always hungry" she shook her hand dismissively. He was in an unusual good mood, she hoped it lasts the day. Taking her seat opposite from him making sure there was enough room to avoid the tension. She looked around the place, it's just the same. It's been ages since she came here.
A plump waitress came by their booth and smiled broadly at Vee "Vee darling, it's been ages! You look nice" she said chuckling when noticed her clothes. "How's your boy been huh? Oh I'm sorry, my manners I'm Miranda dear" she said looking at Jax with the same smile on her face not losing a beat when Vee glanced towards Jax.

Jax smiled back at the waitress as he reached for a menu at the side. He was still deciding on what to order when he felt eyes on him so looking at Vee who was watching he asked, "What?" Not that he had his fair amount of stares but the way Vee was staring was different somehow. He quickly made his choice, "Pancakes with sausages please."
He turned to the the Miranda with smile as he snapped the menu close. That's when he saw how curious she was of him so with a smile he introduced himself, "I'm Jax Wells. I'm new around here."

"Aha, so he talks!" She exclaimed chuckling still. Turning to Vee "Good looking lad you've got hear, what can I get you dear? The combo burger and milkshake?" When Vee nodded, Miranada scribbled down the orders and turned to the kitchen. "Thanks Miranda, I'll pass by sometime this week" Vee called after her. She then Continued staring at Jax probably just to annoy him "You're not very sociable are you?" She asked though she knows the answer.

Jax didn't know how to answer her question but he opted for the truth. "I was but I seem to forget it you know?" He said as he looked at anywhere but her. He knew that being friends with Vee was going to hard because even though she was wearing clothes that dwarfed her, there still guy giving her a second look. Not that he was staking claim or anything but he wanted to wipe off their dirty grins of their faces with his fists. Which was not a good idea.
Clearing his throat he asked her, "I know for sure
Clearing his throat he asked her, "I know for sure
Vee smiled "I'm just teasing you Jax" she said rolling her eyes looking out the window. She was trying to keep the conversation going so this doesn't feel awkward, but every topic she wanted to talk about was off limits. She then turned "Know for sure what?" Confused that she might've tuned out while he was talking.
Jax knows that it was useless to ask her since he can clearly see that he was right. "Nothing," shaking his head. She was a person who doesn't cringe when people talk to her and one who welcomes all people even though they're strangers. He was quite sure that it was true, that she didn't have any hidden motives.
Miranda came back with their food and her meal looked huge compared to Jax's which made her flush a little. Well she's hungry and she trains regularly Hunter's Rules, so she might as well eat like dragon. "Here you go darlings, enjoy your meal" Miranda said laying down the plates and smiling broadly. Vee know because she's with guy that's not Hunter but she dismissed the thought. "Thank Miranda now stop goggling us" she scolded teasingly.
He smiled at how Vee's plate since to be overflowing with food. He liked that, Vee was not afraid to eat in front of anyone just because her weight says it so. Some of the girls he had dated was to stick-thin and if it weren't for the fact that he was not at all picky, he would have said that they needed to get some meat into their bones. Clearing his throat he thanked Miranda with a nod and turned to his meal.
Vee started munching some of her fries "Miranda has been working here since before I can remember. Hunter and I would always come here to escape our families you know. Mine are stuck up rich people who adopted me just to complete their perfect image and didn't give a damn after all the glory of how great they are for doing such a noble thing faded" she said shaking her head. She didn't hate them, they gave her freedom and payed for whatever she wanted, but they still could have at least showed any interest in her. She likes to think it's just because they're old. "Hunter's parents on the other hand were great, they treated me like their own but they are a bit suffocating" Smiling as she remembered how they would scold the both of them daily.
She realized that they never talked about their families before and it shocked her how little she knows about him. Maybe it's good that they're starting over taking it slow or whatever.

Jax was quiet when Vee started talking. He was quiet since he was so enamored by her voice. It was like he can hear it all day and never get tired of it. It was also unnerving that he was like this though. He never had listened enough to anyone at all since why would he do that when he can just pretend his interest. Vee however...made him want to stop and hear what she has to say. He took a fork and cut into his egg before popping it to his mouth. "
"I may not have a family of my own but I found some interesting people over the years that seemed close," he said without thinking. He draw back as it dawned on him that it was the first time he was opening to someone. Even Lea couldn't break the hard shell he had around himself but with the girl in front of him, it's just so easy to let it all out.

Vee smiles as she starts biting her burger. "Interesting people" she repeats remembering how happy he was when Leah came over. Though when you think off it, that's when the trouble begun. "Don't you know anything about your actual family? Apart from Quin of course" it must be weird to grow up with no one to look up to or share memories with. She didn't like her parents very much but it was definitely better than nothing! She imagined a 10 year old Jax hitting the other boys or staying alone, but she hoped he had a better childhood than that.
He shrugged as he bit into one of the sausages. Not that he was ashamed of his past but it was kind of plain, not like hers. "Well let's just say that I was jumping from house to house like a winded salesman." He said in a light tone even as he tensed at what her reaction will be. Many people had pitied him and only added salt to his wounds about not having a family and Lea was like that at first but she learned to curb it when he said it.
Vee laughs almost spitting the food in her mouth "Well you apparently weren't a very good one" she said teasing him. She was an orphan herself so she knows how it feels to be pitied. And she knows Jax quite well to know that if even a trace of sadness crossed her face he'd shut her out that second. He was finally talking and she didn't want him to stop, though she was secretly sad for his pain he deserves a family. It's a good thing Quin showed up, not so good for the rest of them though.
He finally smiled at her words as he looked down, not trusting himself to not touch her he held the fork tighter. It was kind of strange that he had this need to touch her all of a sudden and he didn't know what would come if he did touch her. "You bet it is," he told her as he found the control to look at her again. Her dark eyes were sparkling with mirth, not pity and he smiled even wider.
They sat in silence for a while eating their food. She wanted to sit next to him instead of in front of him but of course didn't dare to. She's not used to the quiet because there's usually laughter or shouting or fighting around and she felt the need to fill this silence. "You're a musician" she said stating facts "Who do you listen to? Who's your all time favorite artist?" She asked truly curious now. He looked taken by surprise, which made him look even more hot than he already is but she decided to look at her food to distract herself.
Jax was stunned to heat Vee ask hims what his favorite artist was. He was kind of dreading that their conversation would end after sharing their family or his lack of one, and Vee was like this. He grinned and forked a french fry of her plate. "Mozart, most definitely is my favorite artist." He said in a bland tone but he knew that his eyes were showing how happy that she had chosen not to touch any subjects that would most certainly shut them both up.
Vee slapped his hand away quickly "Hey, hands off my food hotshot!" She dramatically hugged her plate. She laid the plate back on the table she was done eating anyway but waited for Miranda to bring her milkshake. "I listen to almost everything and anything. It's weird i have no favorites!" She just realized she had no favorites in anything! Not in books, movies, music or even a favorite color. Okay maybe red.
"Really?" He asked as he exaggeratedly massaged his hand like it was hurt which was not. He was kind of amused that Vee was acting like this. He can't remember the time that he was having a real talk with a girl about normal things such as these. He wanted it to last. What the? Why had Vee caused these feelings in him? Ever since he had met her, it felt like he had known her for much longer.
Miranda came placing Vee's shake on the table "here you go sweetie I waited till you were done" she said patting Vee's head like a dog. Vee shot her a look "Hands off me Miranda I'm not one of your cats" she said half jokingly. She hated being touched by strangers even though she's touchy feely herself, but she likes making people uncomfortable.
Miranda shakes her head and leaves but Vee doesn't know what else to say to Jax, she's running out of topics and his looks keep getting more intense by the second that she considered jumping him right there. . "Want some" she asked moving her drink closer to him trying to focus on anything but him.

Jax's eyes were somehow on Vee's lips. He shook himself as she said something. Smiling to her he nodded as he slid the cup to him, his fingers grazing hers as it did so. He drank the shake, not looking away from her. "Yum," sliding the cup back to her. Woohh, this friendship would turn into something else if he didn't have the control on his attraction. Turning away since he wanted to do much more than just drink he cleared his throat, "Would you hit me if I asked you why a guy haven't got you yet?"
Vee felt the warmth of his fingers graze hers and she almost held his hand but contained herself. She frowned as the words left his mouth "I'm not just something you get Jax" she's not some kind of prize people get to win, but she knew he didn't mean it in that way. "I never dated before, ever, every relationship I had was casual so basically not a relationship at all" her features softening a bit "The only guy who 'had' me lost his memory and we didn't exactly date. More like fell head over heels" She swirled her straw in the glass magically not noticing as she was deep in thought. Was Jax with her before just because she was a challenge?
He nodded thoughtfully at her words. She must have loved the guy so much to let her eyes sparkle. He was not jealous that was for sure but he felt odd. He was feeling something else like...acceptance? "So what you're saying is that it was seeing the guy and you fell?" He smiled apologetically when he replayed his words back to himself. "And you're not just a 'something', if I don't treasure this new friendship I would have taken this a little bit further." He waved between their bodies. So true but he wanted to know what it felt like to really have someone and with Vee it seems so easy.
"Not at first sights, this isn't Neverland" she chuckled remembering when she first met Jax. He got on her nerves that she constantly wanted to hit him and kiss him at the same time. Everything was games for her back then. "In a matter of fact it started somehow something like this, but more challenging" she grinned at his tortured expression of self preservation. He doesn't know that there's no way around it.
((Been busy with school...sorry))
Brandon gave a disturbed chuckle. Vee was saying things that held some meaning to it. He was confused if it was him that she was baiting but it did not made any sense at all. "What?" He asked as he pushed his plate aside. He was no longer hungry and he was more interested in what Vee has to say than food. Just like that she had caught his attention and it made him equally happy and odd at the same time.

(I know the feeling np)
Vee was afraid she said too much this time and it's too late to backpedal now. "Oh please, the tension between us can be cut by a knife Jax" she said chuckling "It's started with him the same way" she didn't want to say just any name so she decided to keep it anonymous. "It was kind of a chase, a game for both of us" her face fell a little as she began to worry again that that was all what it was to him. A game. But she decided not to follow her doubts. She tried to avoid what Jax was hinting at, though she wasn't exactly sure.

His frown only became more intense at the Vee's mention of the guy who had left her. "But it didn't end that way, did it?" He asked as he looked at her directly. Brushing a stray lock of hair away from his face, he shifted to a more comfortable position. "In the end you fell in love with him, right?" This question kept on going through his mind. Vee's guy would have loved her back right if it made her like this.
Vee thought for a second, she told him that she loved him once. Trying to help him break from whatever was wrong with him at the time. And then it hit her "He never said it back" she whispered forgetting and not forgetting that Jax was right in front of her. Shaking her head she looked at Jax her face blank of emotions "Yes" and she began to wish Miranda would interrupt them. "But he has gone mad by then" she stood up looking for her purse, but she had no purse with her "Miranda" she called loudly wanting to leave now.
Jax didn't move from his spot as Vee called out to the waitress. What kind of sick bastard would ever hurt Vee? It was too cruel for the guy to have led Vee to fall in love with him. I do love you. Gesturing to the plate with a sigh he turned to Miranda as he waved a 20 dollar bill. Not even knowing that words had came out of his mouth. "I'll pay for this, Vee." He told her and that's when he caught the strange look on her face. "Vee?"
Vee stopped dead in her tracks, did he actually say something or was she so desperate to hear it. She can't go on like that, she'll drive herself mad. Vee decided she'll either have to not talk to Jax again, end everything between them whatever that was. Or she can tell him. Everything. She took in a deep breath to steady herself "Jax, I'm not being completely honest with you" damn it. What is she doing! "Can we go home?" She was calm now and set on telling him. But not here where he can flip in front of everyone.
Jax tipped his head to the side, mystified at what she was saying to him. Was she even hiding something from him? It was impossible since she doesn't know a lot of him yet. Nodding slowly he slid of the booth, "Sure." He went to her side and helped her up, not bothering to step back as her body aligned with his. "Whatever you're going to say...will you still be my friend?" He whispered to her ear. Lying or not he still wanted Vee. To be a friend that's all. No more, no less.
Vee sighed and held his hand "That will be up to you to decide Jax" she squeezed it once then dropped it. This might be the last time he talks to her, he might get so angry that he wouldn't want to even be her friend. Or maybe he'll start getting all confused and hurts himself again, if this happen, she'll have to force him and Quin out of town because she obviously can't keep her mouth shut.

He seemed to relax after a minute. Relief came to him. He wasn't around too many people, and it made him feel more at ease
((Sorry, had a funeral))
Derrick sat and looked around the place. He sighed in relief as he noticed that there wasn't many people in there. That made him feel a lot better

He immediately ordered their roasted chicken breast with steamed veggies. He smiled at her and took a sip of his water
"What?" he asked with a smile noticing she was starting at him a bit too long. Was there something wrong? He didn't know
"Look, I know we just met, and yes I do have a past. But it wasn't my fault." He told her as though he could read her mind. "If you don't want to trust me, then don't." He told her as he excused himself from the table and walked to the bathroom.
After a couple minutes, he returned to his seat and sat down. He took a little flask out of his jacket pocket and opened it. He stated pouring into his water. "You want some?" he asked her and held the flask out.

"Cheers" her said simply begins gulping down the entire glass in a quick could seconds
"You're still looking at me" he told her as he raised an eyebrow and pushed his plate away. He grabbed his wallet and put a twenty on the table. "I should just go, thanks anyways" he told her as he did up and began walking away
"Maybe you didn't, but I can't do this. It's nothing against you, I just can't" he told her as he gently pulled away from her and started walking away again
"Why? So I can get close, only for you push me away like everyone else? I'm sorry, but I can't deal with anymore heartache.. Especially with my condition" he told her
"I'm dying okay?!?" he told her and slumped against the wall with his head hanging low. "My powers are killing me." He told her
"My powers are... Too powerful.. And it's slowly starting to eat away at my body" he told her
