Robert Coover's Fable Land discussion

Don't let the pornographic nature of this book fool you. Gass may have spent thirty years on The Tunnel ;; Coover spent nearly forty years writing this genius piece of fiction.

Hi, Mala. To my knowledge, I have all Coovers that are known to be currently available in ebook format.

I'm just getting into this one now, but man, the writing is out of this world. Immersive imaging, such a rich interesting vocabulary. It kind of caught me by surprise, though I guess it shouldn't have. Anyway, I'm hooked on Pierre already...

Coover said in his Bookslut interview that he regards Lucky Pierre book as a history of the filmic century. Are you getting that sense or is the porn overshadowing it?
To me the writing trumped everything else but then a cynic would say that Coover was after all, writing about porn here.

Yeah I'm getting the sense of it as a history of the filmic century. I'm very familiar with the directors in the dedication, so I'm already on the lookout for their influence. I'm finding it to be a deeply sad book.
