1 - Grammar & Punctuation: Self explanatory, I think. Please use proper grammar as often as possible. If it's a really minor error, you'll be okay, but otherwise do your best. Use the 'edit' button to your advantage! If there's a serious issue, I'm going to ask you to type like you're educated. If you aren't, you shouldn't be here in the first place. Text abbreviations and acronyms will not be tolerated.
2 - Language: Sexual content and profanity anywhere in the group is prohibited, as there are younger members and we'd like to keep the place clean. If anything must happen in the roleplay, just skip over it. Keep any explicit words to a minimum, as well, please. Use substitutions from your ever-growing, vast vocabulary!
3 - IRL Discussions: When speaking out of character (OoC), be considerate of other members. There shouldn't be any harsh or crude language directed toward anyone. If you've got beef with a member in particular, take it elsewhere so no one else needs to be involved. Not doing so is annoyingly childish.
4 - Characters: Your character isn't an immortal being sent from heaven above. Realisticly, everyone has a good number of flaws, so let's stick to that. This means your prized Quidditch captain won't make the Quaffle go through the hoop every time, your character's schemes probably won't go through every time, etc. You get the idea. Also, keep an eye on the number of characters per house. If you can see there's an overload of characters in Ravenclaw, try for a Hufflepuff. There's no limit to the number of characters you can have, as long as they're actually participating in the roleplay.
5 - Spam & Advertisement: You may have a new group you're just DYING to tell people about, and that's fine, as long as it isn't on the group. Don't be that person that makes a new topic just to tell others about another roleplay you've come up with. Send people a PM or advertise on some other group.
6 - Control: You control your character, and everyone else will control theirs. Sometimes you may roleplay another character without realizing it - The mods will let you know whether or not it is the case. Give other characters a chance to react to how your character is behaving or what they're saying, to a degree.
7 - Moderator Authority: Moderators have full power. Decisions made are final unless otherwise stated. Don't waste your energy typing up an argument when we've got the authority to remove you at any given time.
Conduct
1 - Entering & Exiting: When a character of yours enters a new location from somewhere else, please be sure to make that known to others by using the following format:
-Enter [CharacterName]-
That goes the same with leaving a location, but make sure you tell us where the character is going next so we can track him or her. Like so:
-Exit [CharacterName] to [NextLocation]-
The double spacing should also be included. It easily separates your roleplaying text from this one, and allows people to see what's happening without having to try, really.
2 - Text: In a Location topic, it is necessary to use [[double brackets]] when speaking OoC. I know it isn't the universal double paranthesis, but brackets look so much more neat, ya know?
3 - Roleplay Threads: Characters can only be roleplayed in Location threads. These can be found under folders that include 'Locations:' in the title, and threads that specifically identify as a Location in its title.
4 - Plot: To keep the plot organized and under control, we'll discuss what will be happening and in what order for characters in our Plot thread. If you've got an idea, bring it up in that topic to discuss with other members what will happen next. This way, everyone knows what's going on and can follow easily, and no one is left in the dark of what's happening. We can also eliminate any boring, drawn-out stretches of nothing in the roleplay this way.
5 - Questions? If you're really confused, please PM me or any of the other mods so we can explain any unknown aspect of the group. I want this to be one where you can have fun, know what's going on, and feel connected to the group, the roleplay, and the characters. Have fun, kiddies. c;
