I have the same surname for the same species of dragons. I get my names from the book A Game of Thrones from the series A Song of Ice of Fire. The book has dragons mentioned, and kinda sorta in it.

I'll have to check them out. All my dragons will have the surname of Hex, so that I can use names even if they're already taken.

If you ever reead warriors, my dragons have Tribe names. ex. Sky of the dawn, clouds of the sunrise

I'm giving all of my hatchlings gemstone names, my black dragon got Obsidian and my Skywing got Achroite, a variety of tourmaline. Still looking for a name for my dorsal.

Garnet?

I name my dragons by there colors. But in different languages and names. Like I've named one Navykiiro. Navy as in blue and kiiro as in yellow in Japanese. :)

Was thinking of a trichroic name, (A gemstone with three colors or more), there aren't very many, but there are Sapphirine, Tanzanite, Kyanite, and Chrysoberyl. I hope it's a girl because I kind of like Chrysoberyl.

I find my names so many ways.
One I do it on a site
2nd they can pop in my head, Like Whiatt or Spring Chrysanthemum, which are names of my dragons.

Those are pretty.

My dorsal was a boy, so Kyanite Hex is his name. It kind of sounds like a girl's name, though..

I still need to think of names for alot of my dragon's x_x

What's a halloween dragon? And I appreciates your efforts making a name list, Tir! When I make names for my dragons they are usually made out of two or three words like Eclipse Bringer and Azure Skywind and Eternal Ocean.

If anyone knows Greek mythology, then sometimes I name my dragons after the gods (well I am planning to) like the gray one ( ) would be a perfect Zeus. Look at the description ^^

And for ones that are bred, I combine the parents names (that might have been a comment...idk)

and also thinking of random letters and mixing then around to make an awesome name, like Talliber Ross, in my opinion :)

when I finished my goal to have a male and female and frozen hatchling of every available dragon, I am going to collect more magis and name them all with a surname of Weasley. And the same for all the other dragons, except each type will have their own different surname from a language that was in the Inheritance Cycle.
