Well, Mr. Ollivander didn't have to do much to make sure this was granted; it only took one try. Mr. Ollivander picked up a long, sleek wand, precisely the color of a burnt sugar cookie, and handed it to the young Alaric, his eyes sparkling. Alaric smiled a bit as he held the wand and then he gave it a small flick of his wrist. A bolt of power and sparks shot through the curved end, almost succeeding in burning down the store. To this day, Alaric has never questioned his and the wand's affinity, and is glad to have one that reacted so strongly to him.

Description: Alaric is an ambitious, cunning, and intelligent fellow, not to mention honest. But, despite his good traits, people ear the tall, mysterious boy, and tend to give him a wide berth in the halls and even among his House. Alaric is horribly misunderstood—like many other Slytherins—and doesn't have many friends. People view Alaric as arrogant, devious, and full of hatred, but the reason behind this he cannot fathom. He has never given anyone a reason to feel this way, but without meaning to, Alaric can be... intimidating. He is quiet, and stealthy, which can be predator-like qualities. But, he is not mean, and while he can be hard to understand, Alaric could make a compassionate and loyal companion. Alaric, on top of giving off a certain vibe, looks rather dark and sinister with angled facial structure, and piercing blue eyes. His midnight black hair is often a mess, and falls constantly in his eyes. Alaric has a pale, but muscular body, which many wouldn't think as the only time he spends outside is on the Quidditch field. He is of healthy weight(one hundred and sixty pounds) for his impossible height of six feet and three inches. Alaric has a smooth voice, that is nice, deep bass that many say "vibrates in their chest".

Alaric wasn't allowed to play outside, and was constantly getting criticized about every detail. His hair too shaggy, and his brain much to small—all these were things the old witch complained of. But after sweet, and bubbly Nicolette was born, things changed. Nicolette became Alaric's best friend, and he is very protective of his favorite member of the family. For the next few years (the years before he could go to Hogwarts), he had to put up with Mrs. Nettles, but she seemed much more bearable now that he had someone occupy his time. Even bald-headed and toothless, Nicolette never ceased to make Alaric smile.
