Silver mentioned earlier that there is a wide variety in vampire lore. This chapter illustrated that very well. While I had heard of the stake through the heart and the appearance of life, I had never heard of the coffin being filled with blood, the beg wading, and subsequent burning of the head. Now ii can't help but wonder how the blood got into the coffin.

I thought this chapter was amusing in the fact that they did use every possible known means to kill the vampire, I guess they didn't want to take any chances. I did find the sending the head down the river a bit odd. I have heard in some myths that vampires cannot cross running water but actually putting the head in the water seemed strange.
