Andrew Breslin (andrewbreslin) | 8 comments Hello, fellow mathophiles.

Just letting y'all know that issue #4 of Imaginaire, the journal of mathematical fiction, is now available. For free, of course. Download at will.

One word of warning: some of the stories contain strong language and adult themes that may not be appropriate for math lovers of all ages.

(My own contribution, concerning as it does a mathematician in prison and striving to accurately portray life in prison, while simultaneously exploring mathematical ideas, is, for example, totally inappropriate for children because of all the inherent violence an accurate portrayal of prison life would naturally entail, but it's full of math too)

Happy reading. Math is great.

Andrew Breslin (andrewbreslin) | 8 comments So glad you like it! Alas, I'm not sure Imaginaire will continue. Its creator, Josh Allen, has told me he's not sure of its future. He, of course, puts a lot of work into it, purely for the love of math, for it's not as if he makes any money. In fact, I'd be surprised if it hasn't cost him some money. So that may be the last issue. Hope not, but it may be. Kudos to him for his considerable efforts to bring the love of math to the world.

If you'd like to read my novel, it's available for free in its entirety (but as a pdf. Not formatted for an e-reader, yet) at my website, atbreslin.com

Math is great!

Lthmath | 5 comments I am sorry this is happening, but his idea is great and maybe one day it will be bigger. It just needs a lot of support I think.
And I will try your book, the idea is nice and intriguing. ^_^ I have downloaded it and this will surely be my next book. thanks

Andrew Breslin (andrewbreslin) | 8 comments Thanks! Be aware: lots of violence. Much of it takes place within a prison, so it's sort of like the illegitimate lovechild of the HBO show Oz and a math textbook. But I hope you enjoy it. :)

Lthmath | 5 comments Good that you told me this, but it should be more interesting. Though knowing this from the beginning sets my mind on something, so thanks for letting me know.
