Blaine walked onto her train, and sat down in a chair. She waited for her district partner and host. Yeah, that's who drew your name, they host, right? Anyways, she thought so. She also waited for her mentor. As she did so, she took the C pin out of her bun and twirled it around in her hand.

Aiden walked onto the train, and sat across from a girl who seemed about his age. His district partner, he guessed. He didn't see the mentor yet. He played with the watch on his wrist.
Blaine looked up at Aiden and smiled a bit. She put the pin back in her hair bun when he wasn't looking. She then looked around. She wondered where the host and mentor were. She shrugged at her own question. "So, um.." Blaine said. "How are you?" She finished, trying to start a conversation.
Aiden studied Blaine for a moment before replying. "Good, thanks. And you?"
"Oh, I'm fine, thanks." Blaine said. She crossed her legs and looked out the window. They were going so quickly. Much more quick than she had expected. All she knew was that she wanted to get to the Capitol as fast as they could on the train. She just wanted to be prepared for the games. "Do you have any siblings?" Blaine asked.
"Yes, a twin brother, Ryan," he answers a bit nervously. He didn't realize time would fly by so fast. He still wasn't ready to arrive at the Capital, although he just wanted to get the whole games over with. "And what is our name?" he asks, he wants to find out about his district partner as he can before they arrive at the Capitol.
"Oh," Blaine said. "I have a little sister, Ione. Oh, and my name's Blaine. Blaine Conway. And your name?" She said, raising her hand out to him. She was hoping to find out as much information as she possibly could about her district partner. She didn't hear his name when it was called, because she was too busy looking at Ione, who was crying a lot. She looked out the window. They appeared to be close to the capitol, she guessed. To be there soon. Maybe Two or Three hours left.
"Aiden Desserault," he say simply. He shakes her hand and catches her eye for a moment. He looks her up and down. He can tell she probably strong from the grip of her hand, but she just doesn't show it.
Blaine touched her back to the chair as she pulled her hand away. "So, how old are you?" She asked. Aiden looked about her age. Maybe older. She couldn't tell though. Blaine's sight in her right eye was immediately blocked by her bangs, which were hanging down her face, slanting at an angle. She pulled them back behind her ear, waiting for an answer.
"I'm seventeen. And I'm guessing you are sixteen," he says, pulling back and taking a sip from the mango smoothie in front of him.
"Yep." Blaine said. "Well, what do you suppose we do?" She said, bored. They haven't seen their mentor or the lady that reaped them.
He shrugged,"I have no idea honestly. The mentor isn't here yet, and I'm not sure if President Snow will be coming."
Annue walked into the train car where the two tributes were. She came in and looked them over with her brown eyes, before sighing a picking up a pastry and inspecting in whether she wanted to eat it or not.
"I suppose that's the mentor," Aiden says to Blaine.
"Yeah, I think so. Should we talk to her or something?" Blaine whispered to Aiden. "Wait, why am I whispering?" She asked. Blaine stood up and walked towards the girl. "Hello. You must be our mentor?" She said politely.
Aiden quickly got up and walked to stand next to Blaine. "I'm Aiden and this is Blaine," he says introducing them to the mentor.
Annue set the pastry down before turning on her heel to face the two," I know who you are," she smiled sarcastically.
Blaine smiled at their mentor. "So, when will you start giving us advice?" She asked, wanting to learn something that she didn't already know.
Aiden nodded and smiled at the mentor. She seemed nice...but he wasn't sure enough. He hid his facial expression of distrust and sarcasticness and spoke. "She's right, we kinda need some advice and exercises and all that stuff."
Annue sighed heavily," what would you like advice on," she pushed back her dark hair and leaned against the table, crossing her arms.
"How to tell if you can trust someone or not."
Annue frowned," That," she took a bite," is a skill hard to teach and even harder to learn. You just have to know. But here," she gestured with her hands," you trust no one."
"Not our district partners either?" he ask as he sneaks a look at Blaine's reaction.
Annue smiled," Maybe, maybe not. That's where it's tricky. How much should you trust them. Just enough to know you won't wake up with a knife in your back?"
Aiden nodded and tilted his head to the side for a moment as he thought. "And if you were to climb the mountain parts of the arena, what would you need to bring with you?"
"Rope, gloves, fire starting kit, food and water obviously," Annue thought for a moment," if it's cold then make sure you have something warm and some type of shelter, or at the least know how to make some sort or lean-to or something. Also, don't climb for very long, because of the lack of oxygen."
"Ok, thanks-and are there any certain types of animals we would want to avoid? And in what part of the arena would they be in?" He asks curiously.
Blaine interrupted after a quick thought. "I think too big of a fire is practically asking for someone to kill you. It's a suicide plan if you keep the fire too big." She said logically. Smoke is a good signal to let someone know you've been here.
Aiden turned to Blaine, a surprised expression on his face as she had stayed quiet for a little while now. "I actually agree with that, you need to keep the fire to minimum if you don't want to be seen by anybody. Especially if it was windy that day, then the smoke would travel much more fast across the Arena for the other tributes to see."
Aiden smiled triumphantly, he may actually have a chance at winning the games.
Blaine nudged him in his side with her elbow. "Don't look so successful, you're not the one that pointed it out." She said, crossing her arms.
"Yeah, well, I expanded on the topic," he says, looking out the window and crossing his arms.
