As you can see by the picture above, the Mods have the two annual challenges that appear on our Home Page for Happily Ever After Café all set up and ready to go in our Mods Group.

You won’t be able to sign-up for these until January 1st, so we haven’t posted them yet. We’ll do so towards the end of December.

Nevertheless, here is some info on them:

◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇

~ Heroes Around the World ~
Let’s go international this year and choose heroes from different countries all around the world. Be sure you don’t have any duplicates!

What if the hero is from Scotland, living in the US, you ask? You may count him; he’s Scottish.

We’ll start a new thread.
◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇

~ Brides...Grooms...Weddings ~

A shortened version of our annual challenge, just find books with “bride,” “groom,” or “wedding” in the title. (Or the plural or a derivative of those words.) The discussion thread continues in the same place. You may use the same bookshelf name as last year; the date parameters have been changed. ☺ We’ll start a new thread.
If you need to know how to join on of these, check out Join a Featured Group Challenge.

Do you read paranormals, Susan? Christine Feehan is one of the original paranormal writers, started in the 90's before the fad hit. This is one of her long running "Dark" series, it's a bit dated by some of the brilliant more recent paranormal standards but I think this was book 23 in the series and I guess I will read to the end for nostalgia.

message 37: by Kritika (new)

Kritika | 497 comments I have a question. Can we use a title with married/wife in it for the Brides...Grooms...Weddings challenge?
And what about the word fiance?
And would you please update my name in the participants list?

message 38: by 1001 Romances!, Really Pamela, Dhes, & Lisa Kay! (last edited Jan 06, 2014 01:19PM) (new)

1001 Romances! | 178 comments Kritika, usually just:
bride, brides, bridegroom, bridegrooms, bridesmaid, bridesmaids, groom, grooms, groomsman, wed, weds, wedding, wedded...
But feel free to 'tweek' it, if you desire.

Added you. Welcome!

message 39: by Kritika (new)

Kritika | 497 comments Thanks for clarifying:)

did you like that book?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments Yes, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a first book from a self published author. After the hook at the beginning,(The Duke being tattooed by unknown persons) the rest of the book flowed nicely in a modern Regency style. No obvious grammatical or spelling errors either.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments Wow, I'm on a roll. 3/8 finished.

On Thin Ice (Ice, #6) by Anne Stuart . Finn MacGowan is from Northern Ireland. Finished 1/9. 4.5 stars.

message 45: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Neat, Lisa. Love it when I get on a roll. ☺

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments Another one done - 4/8.

Brandt McKay Cowgirls Don't Cry (Rough Riders, #10) by Lorelei James . American. Finished 1/12 3.5stars

message 47: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Goodness, Lisa, you're halfway done and January isn't even half over! LOL!

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments Yes, but I fear I'm going to come to a screaming halt shortly...

message 49: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 257 comments I've read several American heroes, just haven't listed them cause I know American guys will be easy to get LOL
