No rush, whenever we are both there we will discuss. I should be able to get close to 25% tonight at work but I won't read at all tomorrow since I have the day off. If I get there before you I will just switch back to the mountain, or start Santa steps out while I wait so I have plenty to keep me busy just read at your own pace and let me know when you are at 25%. I will do the same.
When I first bought this book I didn't realize it was the co author of Will Grayson, Will Grayson with John green. I didn't really care for his writing style in that one but by the end of the book I got used to it and it was a good book. So far I like the writing and the story of this one.

I'm at 25% there is no doubt in my mind that I would finish this tonight if it wasn't a buddy read. Let me know when you get there and we will discuss.
Hey I was reading and when he said he fell in love with a guy, up until then I assumed Justin was a guy. I mean the narrator. However, we truly don't know his name or whether its a guy or girl right?
It's not a guy or a girl, he/she has awoken in a different body everyday since being born and never had a body of his/her own. I am imagining a guy though because the main story is him falling in love with a girl. For the rest of this buddy read I will probably say he or him but there really is no name or gender.
Probably not something I would normally buy but I would give it a shot though, I see you are already reading it, how far in are you. If you are looking for a buddy read I'm up for it just give me a day or two to find a copy.
I'm at 26%. The whole switching bodies everyday is kinda neat, but sounds exhausting. Its kinda sad that he is in love with someone who can never be, and it must be torture to watch her with this useless guy who is using her.
One thing I really liked is that he always jumps into the body of someone the same age as him, so at least he isn't doomed to spend all of eternity alone watching the world through the eyes of random strangers.
I agree about watching someone he is in love with be with someone that is using her, unfortunately even regular guys who have their own life have to do that sometimes as well though.
One other thing I wanted to mention earlier when we where talking about the sex of the narrator is the day in the life of a junkie. During that day he/she is talking about how the body is more than a vessel and can control the mind if you give to much of yourself to it. The addiction is a chemical reaction in the body taking over the mind and sexual attraction is a chemical reaction as well. Estrogen, testosterone, and pheromone's are all chemicals that determine the sex we are drawn to and as a result or own sexual identity. The narrator in this story don't have a body of its own and is left with only the memory of the chemical reactions from other people's body's. He/she writes a email saying something along the lines of you may not be my type but you are my type of person. That is just because of what he said when she misunderstood him talking about Justin but I think that all someone in a situation like that with no identity to call their own can really have is a type of person.
Yes, I see what you mean. Well, my only hope is that Justin changes for the better or maybe Rhiannon decides to dump him (I doubt it) or that somehow this entity can find happiness. It doesn't sound like a happy ending kind of story, but I could be wrong.
Yea I don't see how it could be happy for the narrator. Best I can imagine is the narrator somehow makes Rhiannon see that she deserves better and can take a little comfort knowing that he/she helped her improve her life and find happiness. Rhiannon might even find out the truth and still be friends so the narrator isn't so lonely and at least has someone to talk to and email, but being in a different body everyday and never waking up by her would make anything else impossible. I'm kind of hoping for some kind of twist along the lines that he wakes up in Rhiannon's body and learns from her memories something we never would have expected. I don't know what that could possibly be, or what I would want it to be, but there is potential for a really good twist ending that way.
That would be awesome! I didn't think of that. He could end up in rhiannon's body. What a trip that would be! I hope that happens.
Im at 45% and after the chapter I just finished this one is probably getting a five star no matter how the rest of the book go's. Hope you get here soon because I don't know how long I can go before I pick this back up.
I'm at 48% and totally understand that you want to finish this. I do too! Its getting deep. The situation is spinning and I have no idea what to expect. The suicide thing was excruciating. The whole time I'm thinking that the father might go ballistic by her revelation. I wish I knew what happened. (view spoiler) I feel sad for him. He has a tough life, but for the time being he has Rhiannon and she has alot to think about.
I just read to 53% and I am going to bed now, my best friend in high school Scarlett was a lesbian, I never went to anything like that with her but I saw the way some people treated her because of it, Worst of all was her own mother. I loved Scarlett and it hurt to see her upset about stuff like that, I haven't talked to her in ten years but I think about her all the time and hope she is happy.
I was expecting the father to brush her off or yell at her also. His reaction and the line about the narrator wishing she could see the impact it had on him is what really got to me in that chapter.
The narrator's name is A I don't know if you got there yet but I figure it is not much of a spoiler and it makes it so much easier for our buddy read. I'm still at 53% I am switching to forbidden tonight when I get to work.
Yeah, I keep forgetting he has a name now. I will try to get to forbidden tonight and catch up on our group read.
I'm only at 65%. Man, you must be a fast reader...lol. I thought it was cool that he finally visited her body, but for some reason I thought it would have been more dramatic or a turning point and maybe it was. She doesn't seem like its an impossibility to be together anymore.
I was thinking maybe it would happen at the end and he would learn something from her memories. I think that the way he tried to respect her life and everything made a huge difference in how she acted towards him after. Yes I am a very fast reader, I am almost to 75% in our other group read as well then I'm going to have to go back to the mountain while you catch up.
Kay. I usually don't do much reading on weekends (though I try) but I will try to finish up Monday night.
Finito! At this point I don't think the ending was justified. I think he rushed it when so much more could have been explained. A's idea about dealing with Rhiannon was a great idea but was still unfair. I think it was sad for both of them, and just didn't seem right that he couldn't stay. I don't know, I feel cheated. How bout you?
Yea definitely, I don't mind that he left it up to our imagination what comes next but there was so much added in the last few chapters and all they where is loose ends. I don't understand why he let her go and told her he couldn't be with her because it would essentially be murder to steal someone's body but then ran off with the pasture in someone's body. There is a sequel coming in 2015.
My thinking is that he was taking the body far enough away so that he could start transferring at a different location. You think that's what he was doing?
Good to know about the sequel. I kept thinking there was one cause the book has #1 in its title. I'll be looking forward to it, but such a wait!
He was meeting up with the pasture. That's what confused me, even if he leaves that body in a different state which he never would have done before why is he going with the pasture? Maybe he just wants answers from him but why leave then?
There is also a prequel type novella that comes before this. I just got it, do you want to read it with me? We can just discuss in this thread if you want. It is called six days earlier.
