It was so popular from last two years, we are doing it again for 2014!

                      The Extension "Gift Card" for NBRC Challenges ~ 2014!

                                                            

How it Works
1. Each member has three (3) gift cards.

2. Each gift card can extend one challenge for an additional month.

3. You can use more than one gift card per challenge. For example: Baby, It's cold outside! December ends on December 31st but I think I'm going to need more time. I decide to use 2 gift cards. Now I have until February 28, 2014 to finish this challenge.

4. Gift cards can be used on challenges that have already passed. For example: I didn't finish reading 'Scorpio' in the Sign of the Times Reading Challenge . I don't want to wait until October 24, 2014 to complete the word. So I use one gift card to reopen the challenge and read 'Scorpio' in one month.

5. All gift cards expire on May 31, 2014. (Yes, we extended it a month. ☺) So use them before then. Please note: If you decide to use them on a Yearly Challenge, that has a monthly challenge milestone (for example, All About You or A Sign of the Times ) this will allow you to skip a month, which could possibly extend the challenge past May 31th.

6. If you decide to take advantage of our gift card offer, please paste a picture on the challenge for which you are using it. Copy the html code below, and paste somewhere near the top of your challenge. You may also find the html code here (Photobucket). See post #22 below.

Hey Kimberly, for the picture, it took me a while to figure it out, use what they ecplain, but make sure this entire address is in so it works, im putting spaces into three places to paste it all.

If you start a challenge, like a monthly or seasonal challenge, but need more time, you may post one of the Extension Gift Cards.

Is this gift card good for this year because I see that it was suppose to expire last year? And if it good for this year I'm in for gift cards. It may come in handy for one of my challenge.

Just post it with the challenge you want to extend.

Oh ok I see. You post it on the challenge thread that you want to extent and each card is worth a month each. Is that correct?

Use the html code posted above and following the directions under our GoodReads 101 Folder Add a Picture from Photobucket. You could click on the html link, too, and it will take you to that gift card in photobucket - and just copy the html code.

I'm sorry but I am just NOT getting this paste the picture thing for the gift card, I've tried like three times using your guys' instruction and I keep getting something that says "image error"

Gabrielle, go here (Photobucket) and look to the right of the screen. Copy the direct html code (by clicking on it).

This will be the code shown in red below. Then paste it in between the code shown in black below. There should be no spaces, except the one right before the word width.

If you want it even easier than that, follow the directions under our GoodReads 101 folder entitled Add a Picture, which leaves off any typing or inserting altogether.

Yay it worked! I'm going to try it again in the challenge thread that I want to use the card for.

One more question, I want to use this card for February's These Are a Few of My Favorite Things challenge. If I paste the card on my challenge tonight which is the 19 of February does that mean that I have until the 19 of March to finish my books? Or am I off numerically?

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe you get an extra month from the date the challenge ends - so if the challenge ends on 28 February, you'll have until 31 March to complete it if you use a gift card.

(That's how I use them anyway and no one's ever pulled me up on it) :)

They end in May, but the Mods have birthdays coming up and will be giving out more.

The time for using the “NBRC Extension Gift Cards” for 2014 are up at the end of May. Luckily, our Mods, Karen and Sonia, both have birthdays coming at the end of May and the first of June.

As their birthday give to you, they each offer you an “Extension Gift Card.” These two cards will be good until the end November, 2014.

I don’t want to wait until April of 2015 for that time to come around again so I can complete the challenge. So I use one gift card to reopen the challenge and read 'Aries' in one month.

5. Both these gift cards expire on November 30, 2014. So, use them before then. Please note: If you decide to use them on a Yearly Challenge, that has a monthly challenge milestone (for example, All About You or A Sign of the Times ) this will allow you to skip a month, which could possible extend the challenge past November 30th.
