I've heard that this movie was going to focus more on the First Class cast, although I'm not sure if the original trilogy cast is going to show up in that movie.
William wrote: "Probably :(. Gosh darn it, it's X-MEN, not Wolverine and his sidelined palls lol !"YES! When are they going to understand that X-Men is a team movie, not focusing everything on one character!?
William wrote: "I'm so glad you agree, Ronyell :D ! It's one of the things I so loved about X-Men: First Class was the lack of Wolverine, just a funny cameo and that was that. But when he is in their, please just ..."I agree. They really need to start doing that again for all the X-Men characters. It just feels like all the other X-Men characters are not getting the screen time they deserve.
And even when they are there, there is little character expansion. I wasn't happy with how cyclops was portrayed.
I used to like him more, pre-white-witch, but he has masses of heroic complexity. They also fuss far too much over Wolverine and Jean. Recently re-watched The Wolverine, my husband claims Jean Grey is number 2 on his list of woman not to annoy.
Who is number one? Is it you Lisa? For your husband it probably should be... lol.
@ Willliam - red rocket ride?
@ Willliam - red rocket ride?

Yup
I do still like cyclops but not as much as I used to
Lisa wrote: "And even when they are there, there is little character expansion. I wasn't happy with how cyclops was portrayed."Yeah, I definitely didn't like how the other X-men were portrayed so I hope that they have better characterizations in the future.
Ronyell - what did you think of Rogue? I am a fan of the character from the comics, and this was certainly a different version... but I liked her (movie version) as well...
She did get some development anyway..

Even though I liked the development the movie was giving Rogue, I felt that her characterization in the movies were a bit weak and I wished that she at least had her Ms. Marvel powers or became a more confident character like in the comics.

I thought Ellen Page was well cast though
I'm with you William.
I just occurred to me the similarity between Kitty and Cyclops. Both are underdeveloped in the movies, but there as a foil for the more developed Rogue and Wolverine... Kitty to get some of Bobby's attention - Cyclops and Jean having their history, but nothing is made of it..

I loved how the characters' relationships were handled in the comics and yet, they can't get them right in the movies.
Time for a Reboot.
New Director - someone with a healthy respect for Chris Claremont.
Sure - I'll still see "Days" and might really enjoy it, but I really like to see something closer to what I grew up reading.

I second that vote.
The X-movies started out as an interesting take on the team, but quickly became all about Wolverine and Magneto.
While they seem to be trying to re-establish continuity with First Class and Days of, they are drifting farther and farther away from anything even remotely recognizable to comic fans.
since my review of first Class is 'It didn't suck', and I haven't even bothered to watch the trailer for 'Days of future Wolverine...' the X-movies have pretty much lost me as a viewer.
I've gone from there opening weekend to I can wait till netflix has them on instant.
Lose the black leather, tell Hugh it's time to move on and do 'Van Hellsing 2' on and give me my original five in live action.

I third this vote.
I would like to see more focus on the X-Men as a team rather than just focusing on one character for most of the franchise. I understand that Wolverine is very popular, but so are the other X-men characters and I don't think it's fair that they are not getting enough focus.
I'd like to see a good focus on Kitty - but not with the current series. Nothing against the acress(es) - we just need something new
Same goes with Nightcrawler.
Same goes with Nightcrawler.
Gotta say, after seeing a few stills of the cast of Apocalypse, it does not suck. The Psylocke costume looks just like what Jim Lee drew, Apocalypse looked good and I love that they went with mowhawk Storm.
and no Wolverine.
Might actually go to the theater for this one.
Rewatched this on Sunday. I like it- more of a team, more character development, plot line complexities. And limited Wolverine

My daughter is the X-movie fan in the family, so I went and saw this with her in the theater.
Not perfect, but I like the team dynamic and a pretty solid cast.
So convoluted, so I try not to think about it too much or compare it to the comic.
Scott wrote: "I thought it was very good and thank goodness they finally got a decent actress for Storm."I liked that they went with mohawk Storm.
Finally saw this a month ago. Better than I expected from word of mouth. Psylocke was a bit short changed (just too many characters to do justice to them all) but good overall and my biggest worry going in ((view spoiler)) was done quite well.
