Lucinda Sloan I just started this book and love it. I heard about it on The Book Guys on NPR. I love to idea about tracing the history of a book. I spent so many hours in a music library when I was working on my DMA and loved finding old and wonderful books and wondering who had read them and why they read them. I also have become very interested in the this part of the world, grandparents etc. I can't wait to read March after this one.

Dick And read Year of Wonders, maybe her best.

K I loved "Year of Wonders," and I liked "March," although I didn't think it was as good. I also really loved her non-fiction book about Moslem women, "Nine Parts of Desire." I'm reading this one now, and so far it's okay but not great. Kind of mediocre compared to her other books. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through, so maybe I'll change my mind.

Chrissie Have you finished the book yet? Does it hold together as a novel or is it more a collection of related short stories?

Shoshana Mostoller I really liked this novel. I think it a complete work, and NOT a collection of related short stories.

Chrissie Thank you Mostoller. Actually I went ahead and read the book. Yes, wasn't it F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! Definitely not just a collection of stories.

Elaine An addendum fo People of the Book;
My son gave me the facsimile of the actual Haggadah complete with wine stainsa
and butterfly wings! It is a replica from binding to end and is a joy especially the illustrations
