Do you wish they'd make more movies based on Janet Evanovich's books with the Stephanie Plum character?

I do.

They made the first into a movie, but the movie was not all that great. I'm not sure if it was the casting or script, but it didn't turn out great. On top of that, they didn't promote the movie. Its sad really, these books could make really good movies with the right adaptation, actors, and director.

The actress who played Stephanie Plum in the first movie bought the rights obviously with the intention of playing the main character. Very little of the movie had the tone of the books. It was definitely miscast all the way through - Debbie Reynolds as the grandmother? Way off base. It was just not made with the books in mind like Hunger Games or Twilight.

Dan Agreed, I don't think any of the cast were right for the parts! ...more

Being a HUGE Stephanie Plum fan, I bought the Blu-Ray and was so disappointed with it. I'll admit, there were a few funny moments in it, but when you've spent years imagining these characters the movie it's hard to see them played by actors who just don't fit the mould.

Instead of a feature movie per book, I'd rather they made a great TV series out of it, using a few of the titles per season. Let's face it, a TV show with a great cast, that's fast paced and full of the comedy that Stephanie Plum can provide (falling into garbage, strange substances in her hair, and Bob!) would be far better than numerous movies that would probably only be a repeat of One for the Money which was mostly miscast (Debbie Reynolds as Grandma M?) and not faithful to the books.

Your so right about the cast, the girl who played Stephanie should have been a bit younger, if I was to cast the folks, it would be like this:
Jennifer Lawrence-Tisha Arnold-Tatum Channing-the good looking guy who is Indian who played in twilight-the grandmother would be someone like Barbara Walters, and Danny Devito...but Ranger should have been played by the Indian boy from twilight. ..

We bought the movie for 1.00 from a Booster...I think that's all its worth.

Estelle Getty (Sophia of Golden Girls) would have been a great Grandma M.

The movie was good but the books are way better.
