Trollope explores so many facets of society. Be curious - what does he touch upon that you'd like to learn more about? This is the place to share links to online articles or titles that expand upon a subject.

In both Phineas Finn and Phineas Redux, fox-hunting is a featured activity - perhaps in other novels yet unread by me. I know next to nothing about it, though Trollope has enlightened me somewhat. I might find myself occasionally learning more. In a Guardian article, our author is referenced as follows:
Anthony Trollope observed that no rural activity did more to bring together every kind of person in the countryside: "Attorneys, country bankers, bakers, innkeepers, auctioneers, graziers, builders, retired officers, judges home from India, barristers who take weekly holidays, stockbrokers, newspaper editors, artists and sailors."
Still reading ...
For lovers of the BarsetShire Chronicles, I suggest you try Margaret Oliphant's Chronicles of Carlingford.Carlingford is definitely derivative of Barsetshire,
but these novels are certainly well worth reading in their own right. I'm sure if you love Barsetshire, you will love Carlingford. You may then want to check
out more of Margaret Oliphant. Like most Victorian authors, her writing is mixed, but her novels on contemporary Scottish life, are conisdered some of the best of their kind for the period.
Funnily enough, I just bought Oliphant's Phoebe Junior because I collect Viragos. I'll have to find the first in the series, David.
I too have quite a large collection of Viragos. All of the Carlingford Chronicles are available in Virago.
As Phoebe Junior is the last book in the series,
I suggest you try and get the others first.
