Once Upon A Time-[Advanced Roleplay] discussion

In the center of the forest is a deep, dark lake. Most are too afraid to venture in, as no one knows how deep it is, or what creatures dwell there.

Periwinkle had been running as fast as she could through the forest for what seemed like hours, although it had just been no more than ten minutes. She was exhausted so she stopped by the lake. She had just been looking for somewhere quiet to study, but things had not turned out okay.

"Stay away from the dark parts of the forest. They're dangerous." Will mumbled under his breath as he trudged through the forest. Well he had never been good with rules. They were made to be broken in his opinion.

Peri leaned against the trunk of a tree, breathing heavily. She really should go to the gym more often. She heard someone approaching and her fatigue momentarily vanished as she got up on her feet, grabbing her bag as a weapon. She hid behind a tree, waiting, until the steps came closer and she swung her bag at whatever or whoever it was.

Will thought he had heard something so he was prepared when the strike came. He ducked under and knocked the assaulting item away, grabbing whoever it was in a choke hold. When he saw that it was just a small girl he let go and stepped back. "What the bloody hell was that?" He growled, his English accent thick.

In a matter of seconds, she found herself without her 'weapon' and staring into a redhead guy. "I... could ask... the same thing." She rasped when he let her go, glaring at him. "I thought you were the creepy thing that I saw earlier! Geez... Sorry."

Will took a step back and tilted his head down so that he could see her eyes. He saw that what she had attacked him with was just a bag and he tossed it at her feet. "You could ask but you won't get an answer." He told her. "And what creepy thing?"

(Oops, sorry my bad.)

Peri bent down to pick up her bag. She had seen this guy around the school before so at least she knew he wasn't some random stranger. "It was some sort of animal with back fur, and I'm sure it wasn't a puppy." She started pacing around moving her arms to try to show him how the cresture was like. "It wasn't a normal animal because normal ones don't attack elves."

Will put a hand over his mouth to smother a smile. "Yeah, I don't think puppies hang around the dark lake much." Will said a bit sarcastically. "I'm sorry did you say elves?" He was hoping he had heard her wrong but was pretty sure he hadn't.

She swatted her hand at him. "Its just that it looked like a dog but it wasn't." Peri sat down on a log digging a hole in the snow with her feet and burying them there. Cozy. As an answer to his question she lifted the strand of hair that covered her right ear, showing him the pointy shape.

Will blew out a stream of air and nodded. Figures, his sister has dealings with the fey and now he's having encounters with elves. "I'll keep my eyes open." He assured her. "What brings a bring looking elf like yourself to the dark lake?" He asked.

Peri raised an eyebrow at him. "Not because of the fun of it." She was still upset about him choking her but not as much as she'd been two minutes ago. "I was reading and the thing leapt from the trees at me. So I ran and ended up here."

"That isn't a real answer." Will said with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. "I suppose it's good that you're still alive though." He leaned back against a tree and observed her quietly.

"Okay, how about this? I was resting after running for dear life." She laughed a little and noddrd. "And yes, I'm lucky, but it would've been smarter to run towards the school. So,what were you doing around the woods? Terrorizing kids?"

Will laughed. She seemed to have a good sense of humor. "I enjoy dark dangerous place actually. I find them calming." He looked her over and shrugged. "I guess. I didn't think you were a kid though."

"How nice." Peri snorted, something she rarely did. "I find them scary, and, I'm definetely not a kid." She sighed, looking her bag for a chocolate bar. "Do you know how to get back at least?"

"Well you asked if I went around scaring kids. That implied that you yourself were a kid." He shrugged, it was simple observation really. "And of course I can get out. Who goes intot the forest without knowing they can find their way back again?"

She gave him a look. Logic always irritated her. "I do, because normally I can find my way back." Peri rubbed her forehead and peered into the lake behind her. She looked over her shoulder at Will, then back at the lake. She touched the surface and slowly, it turned into ice.

Will just raised an eyeybrow at her attempt to show off. "Nice trick." He acknowledged. "I can show you the way back if you need me to." He offered. Wouldn't be the first time.

Peri jumped from the log. "I know, right?" She cracked her knuckles and shouldered her bag. "What a gentleman. Sure, it't be great. This part of the forest gets on my nerves."

"I prefer charming hero but gentleman works I suppose." He said with a shrug. Really, it was probably best that he had stmbled upon her he really shouldn't be alone right now.

"Charming, right." She started walking, not really knowing where she was heading, then realizing this, she stopped, looking back at him. "Well, are you coming or not?"

Will flashed her his signature slightly freckled yet somehow sexy grin. "Just waiting for you to notice Love." He stode past her and into the forest.

Peri shook her head at him but followed, glad his back to her. If he saw her blush he'd probably just pester her about it. "I bet you've used that line more times than what you can count."

"Nah. I'm usually much smoother. You threw me off with your spring attack." Will winked. He grinned, of course, noticing her blush. Even elves weren't immune to him. His ego thanked her.

Her eye twitched. "That's good to know." She caught up with him, afraid of being left behind there. She'd never in a thousand years, admit that, though. "Are you sure you know where you're going?" The shadows the trees casted over them were making her nervous. She was a little paranoid after what had happened earlier.

"Of course. I practically grew up in the forest. It's not scary if you know what you're doing." He assured her. Wll pushed a branch out of the way and held it until she had walked past then strode back ahead. "Trees speak id you listen to them."

Peri eyed him warily when she walked past him. Grow up in the forest? As much as she loved the woods it was difficult to imagine living like that. "And what do the trees tell you?" She asked, falling into step with him, interested in the answer he would give her.

"How to get out, how to go deeper. The little hints that help me find my way, like footprints and snapped twigs." He looked at her with a passionate expression. "Not all communication has to be in words." With that he pushed forward.

She couldn't help but stare. Was this the same guy she'd thought to be shallow five seconds ago? "O-Of course not." Peri glanced up at the trees. Next time, she'd be prepared and try to listen. "Oomph!" She tripped over a root on the ground, falling face first. "So much for listening..." She muttered, frowning at the fallen leaves.

Will crouched down and picked her up, helping to rub off some of the wet mulch that covered the ground around them like a blanket. One side of his mouth quirked up in a lopsided grin. He held her by the waist for a moment. "You steady now elf?" He asked.

There wasn't much she could do about him helping her up but thank him. "Yes, yes. Steady." She was aware he was a little too close but wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing that. "And my name is not 'elf', it's Peri."

"Good to know." He let go of her and spun around, taking off into the forest once more. She was quite funny, seemed very innocent and Will was having a hard time not allowing himself too have too much fun with that. "And how old are you not kid, Peri?"

"Would you stop leaving me to catch up? My arms would be very grateful." She rubbed them, not being as used to the forest as he was. Peri relied on her connection to nature to guide herself, but this particular patch of forest wasn't friendly. Some twigs had scratched her skin and it was beginning to seriously irritate her. "I'm -I'll be seventeen soon."

"Sorry. Want me to take a look at those?" He asked. She had one or two scratches that looked pretty bad and he had some first aid stuff in his bag. "No kidding. almost the same age as my sister." Thought this girl didn't seem anything like Marian.

She nodded, stopping to sit on a rock. "Yes, please. I'm sorry I'm slowing you down." Peri rubbed her eyes and yawned. "You have a sister? Does she goes to our school too? What's her name?"

Will dug the small first aid kit out of his bag. "It's not slowing me down if I had not destination in mind when I came out her in the first place." He grabbed her arm where she had a nasty cut running along the inside. He dabbed at it with antiseptic and began to wrap it. "Yeah, just a bit older than you. She goes here, she's the reason I'm here. I came cause I was bored to death back home without her." He smiled a fond smile. "Her name's Marian."

Peri winced. It stung like hell! Her eye twitched, but then she calmed down. "That's sweet. I wish I had siblings. A twin! It'd be awesome." She frowned. "Hey, I know your sister's name, you know my name, but I don't know yours."

"Sorry Love." Will amended at her wince. He could have warned her it would sting but just hadn't, it would sting either way. "Marian and I are often mistaken for twins." He finished wrapping her arm, dabbed at a few more cuts and stood up, putting the kit back in his bag. "Will Scarlet, at you service, miss." He kissed her fingers and made an exaggerated bowing gesture.

"I'm fine now, thanks." She flexed her arm. Huh. It felt better now. Peri smiled at him when he kissed her hand, a little surprised he'd done that. "Cute." She got up, refusing to be woed, at least not too much.

"I'm English, what do you expect?" Will asked with a smile and a shrug. His mouth just barely quirked and his amber eyes sparkled with mischief. He felt good right now. Dark forest, innocent girl not immune to his charms but trying to pretend she was. Oh yes, he was having fun.

This time Peri laughed. "You are unbelievable!" She started walking again. "Are you always like this? You must have a lot of girls gravitating around you all the time."

"Always this charming and magnetic? guilty as charged." Will grinned. He didn't comment on her second statement. He did but she didn't have to know that. Now that Robin had settled down Will was the only free spirit left around here.

Peri looked back at him. "Of course, of course." She looked around, again involuntarily searching for the dog-like creature that had scared her before. It seemed it had come straight from her... nightmares. "That's it!" She exclaimed, snapping her fingers.

"What's it?" Will asked, watching her frantic snapping with a wrikled brow. "You lost me. what are we talking about now?" He leaned up against a tree and waited for an answer that hopefully made sense.

"Don't you see? The-the thing, I knew I had seen it before. It came from one of my nightmares. Which either means there is something wrong with the forest or with my mind." Peri grabbed his hand. "Anyways, I suggest we hurry."

"If you say so." Will shrugged and held tight to her hand as he led her more quickly through the forest. Didn't need her tripping and scraping herself up anymore than she already was. "So which do you think it is?" He asked as they moved quickly.

Peri shook her head. "Dunno. I have my issues, but you can't deny these woods are weird." She was still worried about shadows lunging at them out of nowhere though. She noticed a thin layer of ice was crawling from her hand to his. "Ummm..."

"Obviously." Will agreed, on both accounts. He ducked under a way low branch. When he came back up he felt a chill on his hand. He looked down and there was a thin layer of ice connecting their two hands. "If you didn't want me to let go you only had to ask." He was only half teasing. She was obviously scared.

Peri made a move to pry her hand away, but the ice wasn't letting her. She frowned. Great, this just had to happen now. "That's not my fault. It happens sometimes and I had nothing to do with it." She said stubbornly.
