Hear Me RoarI had more than one reason for compiling these poems, not only to publish a book, which has been a goal for a few years. But also to sound an alarm about self-worth for young women everywhere. Media makes sex look so glamorous; some young women may not know what they are giving up. In the name of rebellion, I did so many stupid things as a young adult. Contemplating them, sent me to my poetry, to categorize it and re-tell my stories with more of life's lessons pointed out. From there, I Wish I Was a Virgin was born, after a couple of years of adding poetry and editing the work, it evolved into Hear Me Roar. I felt like a statue coming alive for the first time. All those years of thrill seeking and misguided decision-making, had done a number on my goals, self-esteem and sanity. I found myself lashing out, like a wildcat at people and situations I had yawned at before. I was able to protect myself...ready to ROAR! Each poem is unique in style, and I encourage you to read any of the free samples online, and share links with friends, and/or family, or just in the name of GIRLPOWER!
