Cwiegard | 1 comments For me, this is the key element of Red Rising, at least in book one- and it seems to promise to be a continued central theme. Darrow, we witness at close range your struggle to maintain your cover as a Gold. Yes, the closer you get to them, the more you recognize that some of them have virtues, the greater the risk that your mission may lose focus and fail. As in all epics, back to Gilgamesh and the Iliad, the fascination of the internal struggle of the protagonist exceeds that of his struggle on the battlefield. Far above the question, will you survive, will you gain victory, is the deeper question- will you find your way, or will you become the evil that you seek to end?

Alex Wakeland | 5 comments I was always curious if it is a gold trick.... Simulate to the matrix, a test on themselves to raise a opponent, when needed to spur the race to new heights. Maybe they set this up....and whats the rest of the reaping song?
