Toby walked up to the front door of his old house. It had been years since he had been in this town, let alone on this porch. He had joined the marines when he was 18 and had gone to war shortly after, and now he was home as a whole new person.

Elsa was giggling merrily with her friends, returning from college and happy with her life. She made her was through the various fields and farms and reached her house. "Yes?" she asked the nicely dressed man standing in front of the house opposite to hers. "Are you looking for someone?"

Toby looked over at the girl who was speaking to him. "Um, no," he said awkwardly, then gave a soft laugh. "I live here, actually. I'm just trying to gear myself up to go inside I guess." He shrugged lightly. "I'm Toby. I assume you haven't lived here long or I would have remembered you. Or maybe you were a kid..."

"No....I've always lived in this town....though moved to this house a few months ago. I don't remember seeing you around anytime. Had you gone out or something?" she asked curiously. Then she realized he was an absolute stranger, straightened and said, "Oh, and I'm Elsa Clark".

"Toby Welks," he smiled at her charmingly. "I just got back from Iraq. It's been about seven years since I've been home so I'm not surprised I don't recognize you. I doubt I'll recognize my own family at this point. But, speaking of them, I should get inside. They're expecting me. I'll see you around though, neighbor." He winked at her before finally opening his front door.
