I don't believe I'd want to live in the world of This Star Shall Abide by Sylvia Louise Engdahl. It's a masterful work of science fiction, but...well, I won't say anything about the world in which the story is set, so as not to spoil anything. :-) But Sylvia Louise Engdahl is, without exaggeration, a brilliant writer.

I third The Hunger Games. But thinking about it, Under the Dome too. I mean, I haven't yet read it but being trapped in a dome isn't exactly good. e.e

When I last asked him about Scythe several months ago, he said he planned to start writing it as soon as he finished the rewrites on Challenger Deep and Undivided. I'm looking forward to reading all of them!

Divergent, The Giver, I can't think of any more at the moment.
