Jazmine wrote: "Yea they're so annoying.Vampire Kisses for one.UGH she even uses the word vegetarian."Ummm not to sound bitchy but Vampire Kisses came out in 2003, and Twilight came out September 2005. A whole 2 years AFTER vampire kisses.
Dont get me wrong, I am a huge twilight fan, but just because Twilight is more popular it doesn't mean they copied twilight.
Look at Vampire Diaries, that book is about a human girl who fell in love with a vampire but he wont change her! sound familiar? And that came out in 1999!!
I think SM got some of her inspiration from Vampire Diaries, but I have to admit I love Vampire Diaries!
Zeppelin wrote: "Troll zeppy is troll. Could you name a few? I'd like to read them and compare them. "Well, I don't think she completely copied. I mean people who thought of sparkly vampires before her probably killed themselves from the thought.
Ok. Charlaine Harris for one. Vampire Diaries as listed above, and a few others but I think she took sniippets from each and put them together...
Yeah, they aren't completely copied. But when you read them they sound familiar and you think 'Twilight has this element'.
I personally haven't read her books completly, I have just read parts of the books, not the whole things...sry :(
Aaric wrote: "Ok. Charlaine Harris for one. Vampire Diaries as listed above, and a few others but I think she took sniippets from each and put them together..."Well, I wouldn't call that plagiarism. Isn't that how all ideas are born? No idea is completely and absolutely original. Every good idea is the end result of cartloads of similar ideas that didn't quite work just right or needed to be refined in some way.
I wasn't sayin plagiarism, but in Charlaine Harris's books the woman can read minds, but she can't read this one guys, who consequently turns out to be a vampire, they fall in love. There are also other similarities, but they are more minor.
Haha! There is always going to be a book that not everyone will like, its just inhumanily(sp?) impossible.
ok this is really off topic, but this is a twilight group, so i just thought i would mention that i saw TAYLOR LAUTNER today!!!! aka jacob black!!!!!!
yes this is a twilight group, but I think your in the wrong topic. This is for "Books we think copied twilight when really it was the other way around"
fine, im srry. u dont have to be all mad about it, geez :( *cry cry*
I wasnt getting mad at you! I was simple pointing out that its in the wrong topic. And keep crying if you must!
ok. fine, but i dont really care what topic im in, cuz i just saw TAYLOR LAUTNER!!
Jazmine wrote: "Yea they're so annoying.Vampire Kisses for one.UGH she even uses the word vegetarian."Just so you know, Vampire Kisses was originally published in the year of 2003, while Twilight was done in 2005.
Who's the copycat now?
HEY!*not a Twilight fanz*
First off: An Australian group! :P How nice.
Secondly:

You do know that vampire fiction existed BEFORE Twilight? Example: Dracula (duh) but more recently and BEFORE Twilight was the Vampire Diaries which (as far as I know...) was published before Twilight.
So... yeah, Twilight wasn't the ORIGINAL vampire book.
Thirdly: Hi Ellenfp! ;P (WWAC buddies, just so you know and don't think I'm some random creeper)
