My two biggest positive surprises were The Demolished Man and Canticle for Leibowitz.

I think my biggest disappointment was Double Star, which isn't to say it was the book I enjoyed the least (They'd Rather Be Right) but it was the one that I expected to enjoy that I ended up cold to.

Second biggest disappointment was dissecting the Hugo votes and finding out that Blackout not only didn't win, but it only beat out "No Award" in the voting. It's part of what led me to get a supporting membership at Sasquan so I can get Hugo ballots the next three years.

If I had to rank the past winners read this year overall, I'd probably go:

7) They'd Rather Be Right
6) Double Star
5) A Case of Conscience
4) The Big Time
3) Starship Troopers
2) The Demolished Man
1) Canticle for Leibowitz
