Reann THE NIGHT

The weather may change
From cloudy to sunny
To dry with the heat
To rainy and runny.
Snowy and cold
Or dim with sunlight
This is why I like it much better
At night.
In the night it is quiet
No thunder or lighting.
The clouds are not crying
The sky is not fighting
The sun is not blazing
With it's light so breathtaking.
When the wind isn't blowing
In the heat of the night.
There's no need to worry
There's no need to fight.
Dream of the day
And help you it may.
To cope with the fright
Of the long winter night.

(I hope this counts as nature.)

Angie Pangan This is kind of an older poem that I wrote a while back. I hope it counts.

Ash

Fire burns the wood to ash:
From brown to black,
To gray, then white.
All color leeched from sight.

As pure as snow,
Without the blizzard’s cold,
And just a hint of the flame’s glow,
Bearing phantoms of the fire’s gold.

The traces of the past,
Lingering like shadows cast.
The inferno that once roared,
Crackled, hissed, and poured
Sparks into the sky,
Before dying away with a quiet sigh.

Its embers linger after death,
The scent of smoke thick on your breath.
Glowing, fading embers
Are all that remembers…

goblin gender (blanketedmelody) | 568 comments Big Dipper

I used to look at the old big dipper
And I wonder what it's dippin' all night
Now I know it's dipping out warmth and it's dipping out light and it's dipping out a way of life
Now that I have noticed the old big dipper, I'll be watching all the other stars too.
And wonder oh where on earth are you.

Sorry it's so short, I can't think of anything else. ^-^ I will add to it if i think of anything.

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments as powerful as thunder,
beautiful as lightning,
I find this night very exciting

as pure as a rose,
so soft to the touch
the wonderful garden
filled with much

as taunting as cats,
as big as dogs,
the rushing water
brings me sobs.

not very good, but I though I'd give it a try

@Angie"

Thank you

message 8: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) I can't write a poem to save my life :/

message 9: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan Well, I can't really own a topic, so that's fair game of course. Unless you mean the poem?

message 10: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments Yeah I'm not one for poetry but I thought I'd test it out

message 11: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan The topic is fair game. I can't really claim it or anything.

message 12: by Reann (new)

Reann That was awesome. I certainly can't write like that.

message 13: by goblin gender (new)

goblin gender (blanketedmelody) | 568 comments Next week the theme should be poetry about poetry.

Angie Pangan That was great Mimaimi.

message 16: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) And you said you couldn't write poetry...You are such a liar XD You're great!!! I couldn't do anything this good

message 17: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) All I can do is write shorts stories...I can't rhyme for crap

message 18: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan Poems don't have to rhyme. They have more to do with rhythm.

message 19: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Yeah but anything I have ever attempted to write sucked majorly. I couldn't even write something for school and it was a haiku! Haikus are supposed to be easy!

message 20: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan Actually, haikus are deceivingly difficult. Effective haikus tend to have a new thought every line.

Poems just flow in a different way than prose does.

message 21: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Also another thing. For my book it's supposed to have a prophecy in it..I couldn't even write that! I had to have a friend write it for me...

message 22: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Wow That's good! Hang on. I will post the one my friend wrote.

message 23: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) When the war has risen and the world is torn
She who holds the power will rise to her throne
Raised by humans, she knows not what she is
Everything is revealed when her path crosses his

She has to choose, though her feelings are conflicted
Her choice must not be by her love affected
The side she chooses will determine the war
But it may also break her heart to it's core

Every side will try to bring her their way
But love will call her and her heart will obey
He will steady her, keep her mind clear
His presence removes uncertainty and fear

Beware they must not get to close
For he might deceive her, and affect what she chose
If her choice was wrong she will lose her soul
Everything will burn and the world will fall

message 24: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Yeah she's a great poet. She saved my life pretty much. XD

message 25: by goblin gender (new)

goblin gender (blanketedmelody) | 568 comments Yep. :> I'll start writing Amber eyes part 3.

message 26: by goblin gender (new)

goblin gender (blanketedmelody) | 568 comments I took lyrics from a song, but changed them up a bit.
