message 1: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan No problem. Who wants to write the first prompt?

message 2: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan What is it?

message 3: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan It can be anything. Doesn't have to be too complicated.

≈aleх: pнoenιх oғ тнe ғlaмe≈ (loveisendless) A man ran down the hall. He had lost his wife and drunk his troubles away. A hiccup came. Then it became a painful fit of coughs. He soon soon collapsed.

Topic: Kittens

message 5: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan He was the greatest joy of her life. It had taken half a dozen miscarriages, but this baby boy was more than worth it. She cradled him in her arms, delighting in every giggle, every gurgle, and every burp. But her favorites were his hiccups. The way that his head tilted up and his mouth formed an "O". After a quick series of hiccups, his lapsed into a fit of laughed. His infant joy was contagious, quickly passing to every other person in the room.

Prompt: Cactus/ Cacti

message 6: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan It was morbid, but the exterminator often wondered what it was like for the ants when he sprayed the pesticide. How the rain could massacre millions of innocent little ants and their babies. All because the giants above found them obnoxious.

Prompt: chocolate cake.

≈aleх: pнoenιх oғ тнe ғlaмe≈ (loveisendless) Chocolate Cake
Not yellow nor white
It's sweet decadence rolled on my tounge like water in a river
How the cake inticed me
It was so divine
If was my joy of life

Topic: Unicorns

message 8: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan Why do raisins have their own name? Aren't they just dried grapes? I don't know why we would give them a new name. I feel like that would just mislead them into thinking that they're special, when really, they're just another kind of dried fruit.

prompt: puppies

message 9: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments six puppies, all of different colors and sizes, but beautiful nonetheless. a mother dog couldn't be prouder. they all got along, fighting their way to get belly and snuggling close. except for one. the runt off the litter. the one puppy that want promised a strong and healthy life, or a living home. but it was promised one thing-neglect. runt for life, yes. but in the end, stronger as he will.

message 10: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments prompt: tile floor

message 11: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments prompt?

message 12: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan Prompt?

message 13: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments I'll just make a prompt.
Hail.

message 14: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan The hail fell in clumps from the sky. To the desert people, who had never seen anything cold fall from the sky, they thought that it was snow. They ran out into the streets and sustained serious concussions from the falling hail.

Prompt: homework

message 15: by Reann (new)

Reann I don't even understand what the heck I'm supposed to do, but mom is too busy to help. Screw this, I'm watching TV.

Topic: Books

message 16: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) Lilly was already annoyed. The day had sucked, with her falling in the middle of PE and everyone laughing, and Jake, her one and only true crush knocking over her stuff in the hallway. And now this. She ran out of the school and dove into her car, throwing her books in the passenger seat as she sat in the driver's, shivering as she looked out the window at the hail. It wasn't very big, but it stung like tiny bullets on the way down. She gazed out the window, frowning as it hit Jake as he bolted for his truck. But it wouldn't open. It looked like he had forgotten his keys. She started her car and pulled up next to him. She rolled down her window, "Need a lift?" she called. He flashed her a smile and got in on the passenger side, setting her books in the back.
"Thanks Lilly." he smiled warmly at her, and Lilly felt her heart speed up. "Look, sorry about earlier." he said awkwardly.
"No, it's fine." Lilly smiled. "Now, where do you want to go?"
"I'll hang at the library foe a bit." he said, "want to stay with me and out of this hail?" she smiled as she nodded and started off. Maybe this hail wasn't such a bad thing after all.

Prompt:: Spoons

message 17: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan There's a universe in these pages. Life and death. Love and heartbreak. Friendship and betrayal. How can so much be trapped in black and white. How powerful ink is... to contain such immense ideas.

Prompt: technology

message 18: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) ((Since someone already put something before me just ignore my prompt xD))

message 19: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments crap, I just posted it and it deleted it.

I was late for school. five minutes and the bell would ring. I rushed to the doors. four minutes. I swung them open, careful not to run when I was in the sight of the security camera. three minutes. I practically ran to my locker and took out the stuff I needed. two minutes. with zooming speed I entered the classroom, relieved to see that there was a substitute. one minute. he was taking roll call. I was in my seat just when he called my name. "Here," I greeted. just in time. I wouldn't have my name written down this time. but then he asked for homework....I was doomed.

prompt: sugar

message 20: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments Oh gosh I was late. sorry

message 21: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments technology-

the world wide web. such a disastrous place. full of dangers and stories, secrets and the unknown. if anyone learned the impact of the internet, would they not agree the knowledge it beheld?

prompt: sugar

message 22: by georgiabread, Da Person Who Controls the Writing Contests (new)

georgiabread | 201 comments Mod
A huge grin spread across Megan's face as she banged her hand on the table with a beat, urging Kate on. Her heart thumped harder and harder as Kate shovelled spoonful after spoonful into her mouth. Megan had no idea anyone would actually do that; a slight feeling of guilt churned inside her as she watched her best friend spoon piles of sugar into her mouth. She began to feel worried for Kate. Would she go hyper? Would she get sick? What effect would this have on her?
The others surrounding Kate cheered her on.
"Keep going!" Sam cried enthusiastically.
"Oh, this can't be real!" said Jamie
"Yeah, Kate! Go, go, go!"
Megan glanced from each teenager to the other, anxiety bubbling like boiling water. "Kate, stop."

Prompt: fire

message 23: by alessia (new)

alessia (classick) The flames were lashing out into the dark air, like a hungry and desperate animal. Malice watched it with a slightly nonchalant expression, shadows dancing across her face as her extremely pale arms warmed up at the soft glow and the welcoming heat. She let out a long breath and the flames quavered. Her heart seized, hoping it wouldn't die out and leave her alone in the cold prison that chained her to this miserable life and world. Flames and destruction were her only sanity, being a demon. A monster, barbaric, disgusting... the whispers along the streets haunted her as she eyed the small bon-fire flame hopefully. Slowly, with her coaxing it with her will, the flame began to grow brighter once again. It glowed brighter with each passing second, filling Malice hope as well. Hope that her comrades would save her soon...

Suddenly, the fire died and a dreadful chill filled the prison cell.

Prompt: Codes

message 24: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments I needed to crack the code. For the sake of the world, the human race, and ever species, I needed to crack the code. The seconds were counting down, each breath a sign that soon it may be my last. Each second that passed seemed to encourage her with raging desperation to crack the stupid code. Everyone's lives depended on it.

3....2....1...

Prompt: sapphire

message 25: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan ((Oh! Yay! The paragraphs are starting to get longer and more detailed.))

Her eyes matched the sapphire of his wedding ring. They were the deepest, purest blue. The irises twinkled and caught the light. Her intelligence brought a sharpness to her eyes, creating depth and texture, like the bevels of a gem itself. He knew that he shouldn't be lusting over a woman- er... girl- a third of his age, but he couldn't help it. He had never seen eyes so sapphire or lovely. He just had to make sure his wife never heard of it.

Prompt: New Year's resolutions

message 26: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments When the countdown started, I frantically watched my past year flash before me, and was disappointed to realize that I had accomplished a grand total of nothing. Next I imagined my next year. I already knew what I was planning. I was planning to exceed to the point of success and do more with my life. It just seemed a little impossible, being that next year was the year that everything was promised to go downhill. What I had awaiting for me was mass destruction of the population. So much for resolutions.

Prompt: pond

ali ᵏᵉᵉᵖ ʸᵒᵘʳ ᵐᵒᵘᵗʰ ˢʰᵘᵗ (time_wont_fly) | 128 comments The pond glittered benieth her, as she stared down at it. She stared at her reelection- the scarred face, the slight frown, the tear slipping quietly down her cheek. Her hand reaching down, she broke the image with her finger. This was why she like the pond- it nevered lied to her. The water told the truth of the world- the truth of people. It showed to her, that even when your looking in a glass reflection, you are always a little warped near the edges. And when you rippled it apart, it showed an even greater truth. The no matter who you are if you become broken its a little disorienting, but a little beautiful. In the end, the picture always came back into focus. She pushed back, walking away from the pond- to focus her life.

Prompt: dance

message 28: by Reann (new)

Reann When someone tells you to dance like no one is watching, you don't really dance like you would in your bedroom while you listen to your favourite music singing into your hairbrush microphone. No one does that in public and that isn't what they mean when they say dance like no one is watching. Because people are watching. And singing isn't your strong suit. So next time someone says "Come on! Have fun! Dance like no one is watching!" Don't. Because they are watching.

Prompt: Snow

message 29: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments The Summer breeze swirled and tumbled under the grace of sunlight. Its musical inspiration came from the humming of the bees and the singing of the birds. It wandered between flowers, spreading the pollen and letting in fall unto another patch of flowers. The breeze swooped into the sky, highlighting the sun's warm glow in its presence. Nothing was greater than the Summer's natural goal- to dance.

Prompt: Ash

message 30: by ali ᵏᵉᵉᵖ ʸᵒᵘʳ ᵐᵒᵘᵗʰ ˢʰᵘᵗ (last edited Jan 01, 2014 10:32AM) (new)

ali ᵏᵉᵉᵖ ʸᵒᵘʳ ᵐᵒᵘᵗʰ ˢʰᵘᵗ (time_wont_fly) | 128 comments My hand drifts out, catching a piece of falling snow. Her hand closes around it and she holds it to her chest. She was tired- of life, of living. Snow, a sad thing it was, destined to fall and fall again. It was pure, yet it found its way to the least pure people. She almost laughed, her rib cage becoming visable as she leaned back and her shirt came up. Snow found it's way to her. Maybe it signalled something- a new change in her. And that day, something blossomed.

Prompt- death

message 31: by Reann (new)

Reann Death. My old friend. Looking him in the face never scared me. What scared me was what happened when someone I loved did. He never took me, never talked to me and never looked me straight in the eye. Then he took everyone I loved. My mother was first. I saw Him grab her. I tried to stop him but he's too strong. He acted as if I wasn't there. Then he took my brother. It was messier because my brother resisted at first but eventually went with Death. Then my sister. That was the worst. He had no reason to take her. He was doing it in spite of me. That was my sister. That was my family. Death had taken them all, it was his turn now. Is it possible to kill Death?

Prompt: The forest

message 32: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan The forest was an emerald kingdom, far more beautiful than the Emerald City in the land of Oz. Little sprites hid under the leaves. when the wind blows, I can sometimes hear their giggles and laughter as the leafy boughs tickle their faces. The tall guardian trees hide a doorway to the faerie kingdom and only someone truly in tune with nature can gain passage. One day, I'd like to spend enough time in the forest to be granted access.

Prompt: Penguins

message 33: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan Ash.

The remains of someone- or something- gone and passed away. We'll never know exactly where the ashes came from because it is impossible to see their originator. All that's left are the carbon dust retrieved after burning the remains.

message 34: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments The evening sky illuminated the shadowed trees, casting an eerie shadow on the forest floor. Fearful mice and chattery squirrels skidded to their homes, carrying only what food they could to provide for themselves. An owl hooted in a nearby tree, cooing to reassure her young ones of a promised night of hunting. The wild animals that slept during the day, came out of hiding, to once more roam the wild territory. When the last strand of light had been swallowed in darkness, the playfulness of day was consumed, allowing the demons of night to take charge.

Prompt: roses

message 35: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments ((uhhh, we just got really mixed up))

message 36: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan ((When that happens, I just try to write something to fit all of the previous unanswered prompts. It's good for a challenge.))

message 37: by Reann (new)

Reann The rose pricked her finger as she plucked it from its resting place. She carried it and brought it to the grave letting fall into its finale resting place. She contemplated the famous quote.
Should we complain because roses have thorns or rejoice because thorns have roses?
Should we be sad that people die or should we rejoice because we will meet them once again?

Prompt: imagination

message 38: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan A woman should be like a rose: beautiful, pure, and delicate. But also a bit prickly. She should never allow herself to just be trampled on the ground. She should be visible, but have her thorny boughs built as a defense around her.

Prompt: Still penguins

message 39: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan My imaginary friend was always a penguin. Don't ask why. It just was. Maybe it was cuz I was so clumsy. Having a penguin friend gave me an excuse to fall on my face as a child and then slide on the ground.

Prompt: candy

message 40: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments I imagined escaping this dystopia, with ever intention of going back to my made-up world. I closed my eyes and immediately saw myself on the magical beach of my dreams. Where everyone is friendly, where lovers hold hands and rejoice in the power of eternity, where children play forevermore, where I get to sit and watch the life of the bleeding sun shine upon the people. They were all happy. So why wasn't I? Oh yeah- 'cause this is a dream.

Prompt: back door

message 41: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments candy-

the sweetness of the chocolate-coated strawberry filled my mouth with an explosion of flavors. Sweet, bitter, juicy, delightful, and rich. The perfect mixture of dark and happy.

Previous Prompt: back door

ali ᵏᵉᵉᵖ ʸᵒᵘʳ ᵐᵒᵘᵗʰ ˢʰᵘᵗ (time_wont_fly) | 128 comments My hand floated over the back door. This would be it, my last stand. This back door would mean I would be walking out forever. I would be gone- out of their life. I turned my eyes toward my family- well, my previous family. "Goodbye." My voice was dark and bitter, filled with no regret. Stepping forward, I stepped out. The door shut with a bang and a final click. This was goodbye.

Prompt- on the verge

message 43: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments I was on the verge of insanity. Everything I had was lost, including my mind. Everything I held to my heart had shattered on the floor. Everything I had built up to conquer and provide, had vanished and died. Nothing was left but the carcass of my soul.

Prompt: glass of water

message 44: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments My doctor prescribed me depression pills. They didn't help. They didn't restrain me from crying out in my sleep, nor did they stop the aching in my chest. They couldn't replaced my loved one lost, nor could they make up for the happiness forgotten. I needed an anti-love pill. Too bad they don't exist.

Prompt: time

message 45: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments ((anyone?))

message 46: by Abi (new)

Abi (abilyssa) | 1289 comments As a five year old, when I heard the announcement on the news that there was a serial killer on the loose, my first reaction was, "No! Not Cocoa Puffs!" It wasn't 'til later that I realized there was something much more horrifying to the meaning.

Prompt: ice

message 47: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan His personality was like ice. It stung and hurt upon contact. It was cold and could leech the warmth from your body. Arguing with him was like hitting a glacier with a sledgehammer. The ice shatters in an angry explosion that cuts your skin and leaves you bleeding from a thousand different places. The hole would always be left in the ice because he would never forgive you. Like ice, he was uncompromising and unyielding. There was no love in his heart. The best you could do was melt a layer off his exterior. But there would still be ice beneath and all you would be left with was a cold puddle soaking into your clothes and chilling your bones.

I wonder why I ever dated him.

Prompt: Oreos

ali ᵏᵉᵉᵖ ʸᵒᵘʳ ᵐᵒᵘᵗʰ ˢʰᵘᵗ (time_wont_fly) | 128 comments The cookie or the cream? It really depends on what kind of person you are. Me, the bubbly, sweet, I love everyone type of girl, would go with the cream. They tend to be the people who hold everything together. They are the people who make the world seem ten times better. Yet, if taken alone, they may seen over-sweet and too good. But, together. Together with the bitter, cynical cookie. Now that, that is chemistry

Prompt: colorless

message 49: by georgiabread, Da Person Who Controls the Writing Contests (new)

georgiabread | 201 comments Mod
I always tend to think, from a dog's point of view, is everything colorless? Is everything a shade, black and white, light or dark? Do they not know the joy of seeing colors? Do their feelings not rise or fall when they spy them? How do they adapt, living in a world of darkness, were there is no brightness or color? How do they cope?

Prompt-snowflakes

message 50: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) When I gaze out the window, watching the snowflakes drift to the ground, I curl up tighter under my blanket and hold my stockinged feet closer to the fire. Snow's cold and merciless, trapping you in your house when you have other things to do. But sometimes it's a good thing. It makes the warmth of the fire seem that much warmer, covers the bare trees and brown, frosted grass with a sparkling white blanket..... Not unlike the one I cower under now.

Prompt- Silverware
