So far not so bad, my drive in the car is not too long but i have found it interesting. The speaker really is doing a great job with the voices. Honestly makes me want to watch the movies lol.

The gentleman that narrates the audiobooks received many awards for them and was even honored by the Queen with England's MBE. He does an amazing job

One day I will experience this series. It won't be this year. It may not even be next year.

  Climb every mountain...
I reread the first book for the first time since I was ten or eleven. It wasn't really as amazing as it was when I was a kid, but I really admire the way J.K Rowling pieces the whole story together like a puzzle. There is literally nothing superfluous about the story. Every incident or piece of information learned contributes in some way to the ending.
Her precision is actually really remarkable. It doesn't even seem like one woman wrote it, but a team of diligent specialists that spent months in front of a whiteboard with flow charts and web diagrams refining the story over and over again to perfection.
Anyway, that was my experience rereading this book as an adult after more than ten years.
Thanks for your thoughts, Anna!I have only read the book as an adult. It's interesting to read how you compared your experience now vs when you were younger. Glad you admired the way she pieced the story together. There are so many resources out there that go into detail about why this or that happened and just so much information, but those are things I'd never remember without having read the books a million times, each.
I had heard and read about this book, so I finally decided to give it a try. I did not want to spend much money on this one, so I bought a paperback. I read it in about two days, and afterwards I went to Borders and purchased the hardback. I've read them all, most a couple of times. The world Rowling has created is every bit as wonderful as Tolkien's. It is rich with characters and emotion. I love the way she ages them, and using the school years as a starting and ending point is brilliant. As soon as I realized that Harry's room was a closet under the stairs, I was captivated.
I've read all of them and LOVED them, though i thought books 6 and 7 were weaker than the rest. However, i decided to start to re-read them because it's been SO long and I'll keep up with my opinions now that I'm more or less reading them as an "adult" and not a "child". :D

Synopsis from Book #1:
Harry Potter has never played a sport while flying on a broomstick. He's never worn a Cloak of Invisibility, befriended a giant, or helped hatch a dragon. All Harry knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley. Harry's room is a tiny cupboard under the stairs, and he hasn't had a birthday party in ten years.
But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to a wonderful place he never dreamed existed. There he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic around every corner, but a great destiny that's been waiting for him... if Harry can survive the encounter.
