Berglind Lilja Do you have any ideas for Challenges? Post them here and we'll look into it :)

Katherine (katheranne) | 20 comments I remember reading some of the challenges Ashley had posted (like the one that changed monthly, where we were supposed to create a locker to keep track?) and they sounded a little confusing, but intriguing! They seem to have disappeared though...is that no longer happening?

No, we aren't doing those anymore because I would have totaled to over 20 books a month and a lot of our members don't have that kind of time, but we might make smaller challenges like those.

Tachi How about a challenge where the book cover has to be a certain color or have a certain image on it? Or a theme challenge, like contemporary or paranormal books?

Berglind Lilja I'm planning on making monthly challenges, the first one beginning in February :)

Berglind Lilja The monthly challenge would include the things you were talking about Gabby. You have to read a book by a certain author or it has to be published in a certain year or the cover has to be in a special color or maybe the book has to have a cat on the cover or something. :)

Tachi Okay seems good! I can't wait to see them next month!!

Katherine (katheranne) | 20 comments Yeah that's true, I definitely couldn't handle that much in a month. The smaller challenges sound good!

I've started a yearlong challenge on my website! It's called Book Bingo. Check it out here - http://lumosbooks.weebly.com/book-bin...

Much appreciated!

Jennifer I came across The Month Challenge- Reading a book with the title of the current month in it. (It sounded hard, but I looked into it and found at least four books for each month.)
Since it's already March, maybe it's a challenge we could start next year.

Jennifer There's also the Decade Challenge-

Each month is a book from a different decade say 1900-2010. The participants wouldn't have to go in order just keep track of the decades they've read. Then post the book, year it was published and decade it covers.
It sounded fun-the idea of decade-hopping.

Jennifer Last one I promise.
The Alphabet Challenge-
This one is the you can play with the most. Picking books either by the title or author (Allegiant or Anne Rice)
Idea #1- We go back and forth- You sign up for A, I sign for B.. You sign up for J... etc. In the end you have anywhere from one book to a dozen. That way participants get to choose how many books they want and aren't overwhelmed.
Idea #2- We grab crazy by the horns and ride- everyone agrees to read twenty-six books- one for each letter of the alphabet.

Jennifer @Berglind I didn't mean to throw so much at you at once. I hope these are helpful, but if not please feel free to tell me these challenges are crazy and just won't work for the book club. I won't be offended.

These are all great Jennifer :) I'll look into it!

Berglind Lilja I'm thinking about starting an Alphabet challenge and a Decade challenge :)

Should we try to read books that cover the entire alphabet together should we do it separately? I think that doing it together would be fun :)
