I finished this yesterday. I have just done my review, and STILL wasn't sure of my rating! I know others have enjoyed this little noir novella by Cain, but it wasn't really for me I'm afraid!

I gave it a 3. I also had the same problem Brenda, I didn't really like any characters. The only one I could have liked was the cat lady. It was good for a quick read though

Funny that! I find I must like at least some characters to enjoy the book:) Glad it's not just me Kadi!

I think the enjoyment is in reading about unlikeable people messing up their lives.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I liked getting into the mind of these greedy and deviant characters to see how far they go before they destroy each other. And it was awfully daring and sexy for that time :)
