I managed to complete Mt Ararat (48 books) during 2013, but bought at least that many books ... so trying for a few more this year. I will admit that there are several books on my TBR list that I bought and could have read last year, but I put them off so I could complete the 2013 challenge. So now I can go ahead and read them...

#3 Alluring Adversary by Marti Jones.DNF. Chapter one has the *hero* engaging a prostitute. Chapter two has the drunk *hero* arguing with his long-term mistress. Chapter three introduces the virginal Mary-Sue heroine. It's 1845 in the Deep South, so of course he's a slaveowner and she's an abolitionist.
It's a romance, so by definition it has to have a happy-ever-after. But I have no respect for the *hero*, and not a lot for the heroine who seems to have instalust for him (yes, I know this early behaviour gives him a lot of room for a dramatic character arc. But I can't bear reading that long).
So, despite the fact that it doesn't count as a book read, it is a book off my TBR pile (and into my Donate pile).
Hi Iola; I'm seeking a review for my INDI published novel, "Scorched Family". If you are interested, do I post details here or do you have an email? Thank you, Norma L. Davis ddavis6@gt.rr.com

May I ask why you've asked here, in a Goodreads discussion, rather than via my website or Facebook page?
Iola,When I couldn't find an actual email for you, I sent a message to the only link I saw. I thought it strange. I just went back to your post and realize I should have tapped your name. I guess I was looking for an actual email address. Sorry, my mistake.
Norma
Just wondering. I've looked at your book on Amazon, and I'm sorry, but it's not something I'm interested in reviewing. Best wishes with your marketing efforts.
If you want to know more about how to get reviews on Amazon (and Goodreads), I'd recommend you read the reviewing book by Theo Rogers (available on Kindle). It's not usually appropriate to solicit reviews through Goodreads, except in dedicated review groups.
Iola,I didn't intend to pitch my book on Goodreads. I only needed an email so I could reply to your post on the Indie Reviewers site.
Thank you for your time, your kindness, and your reference.
Norma
Hi, Iola! You've made a good start! Just so you know--Did Not Finish books can count if you intend to take them off your stacks and not return to them. It's up to you.
Thanks, Bev. I do count DNF's, because, as you say, it's not on Mt TBR any more. It's on Mt Donate. :)
Iola wrote: "it's not on Mt TBR any more. It's on Mt Donate. :)"Love that! I'm going to start using that term for my growing pile of giveaways. Thanks!
#4 Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne TrussOh dear. I need to get onto this, don't I? I've been reading a lot, but it's all been reviewing books, not Mt TBR.
#13 - The Way of Grace by Cathy Bryant#14 - A Lady by Midnight by Tessa Dare
So far behind, yet determined to catch up. It's a lot easier to read (and more fun) when I know I don't have to write a review.
