This is the topic for posting links to any books you're aware of that are free on kindle!
(If you do not own a kindle, you can easily download a PC or android app. You will need to create an amazon account for this.)

That one is pretty short, but good. It's kind of a prequel to A Bride for Keeps (Unexpected Brides #1) by Melissa Jagears

Someone told me that G.A. Henty's works are free on Amazon.
If you like Historical Fiction his stuff is really good.

Well, I have a particular way of looking up free Christian books on amazon. It's kinda hard to explain, so I'll just post a link to the page -- http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n...

Also, one of my GR friends has a Pinterest board where she posts free books that she finds. Here's a link -- http://www.pinterest.com/lovebeingveg...

Hey,
For those of you who have kindles. I am hoping to get one soon, and I heard that you can share books with people on a nook. Do any of you know if you can do this with a kindle as well?

I don't know how it works for a nook... On kindle you can loan a book (if it's loanable), but only one time. You just have to have an email address for the person you're loaning it to. You have to type in your name too, but you can type anything in that blank & it doesn't matter.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I've checked and it doesn't appear like any of my books are loanable. I have a lot of free books, but even the ones I bought I'm not able to lend. Does it have to be bought above a certain price before you can lend?

message 23: by Elizabeth, He Satisfies My Soul (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) | 1575 comments Mod
Okay, thanks for letting me know.
So you all think Kindles are better then Nooks?

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never had a Nook, but I would say get a Kindle. I love mine! :) I went with a Paperwhite, not a fancy one with apps and colour, since I only wanted it for books. But there are different Kindles you can choose from.

message 25: by Elizabeth, He Satisfies My Soul (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) | 1575 comments Mod
Okay, I'm looking at getting a used one. How is the Kindle Fire compared to yours, do you know?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, a Kindle Fire is in colour, has apps and games, and faster Web browsing. You can watch movies on it too.

I got a Paperwhite because I actually wanted to use an ereader for reading and reading only. Otherwise I would get distracted and not read on it at all. :P

message 27: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyelaine) I hope you don't mind if I sorta nudge into the conversation, but the Paperwhite doesn't have the earphone jack so you can't listen to audio books, but you can play games.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Do you have the latest Paperwhite? I have the second generation, I think. I didn't think the new one had games.

message 29: by Elizabeth, He Satisfies My Soul (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) | 1575 comments Mod
Oh okay, haha yeah I know what you mean Cari.
No don't mind at all Sydney, I was asking everyone in general. So thank you, that would be important.
I think I would want to be able to get audio books.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok, I think you'd want to go with the Fire, then. I've been looking at the different Kindles on Amazon. Paperwhite for sure does not have audio or games.

Really? Are you sure? Pretty much all of the books I've gotten were free & I would say close to, if not over, half of them are loanable.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I did some reading up just now... I think maybe it's because I'm in Canada. I guess lending is not enabled for Canadian kindle owners. Bummer.

message 34: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 451 comments Oh, that stinks! I wonder if we can still loan to you... I was thinking I had loaned a book to you before...

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never borrowed a kindle book from anyone yet. I think US CAN loan books to Canadians. But we Canadians can't loan to you guys, or to other Canadians. Makes sense, I guess, since Amazon is American. Still. We pay for the (not free) books, too...

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) | 1575 comments Mod
I asked someone else and they said you can only loan a book one time. I don't know if that mean one time to one person, and then lend it to someone else, but i think it's you can only lend the book one time period.

message 37: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 451 comments @Cari- Yeah, tat's not really fair. :/ Well you're welcome to borrow any of my loanable books. :)

@Elizabeth- A book can only be loaned once. That's it.

Aerykah | 451 comments The entire series The Warrior Kind by Guy Stanton III is currently FREE on Kindle. I haven't read any of his books, but I've heard that they're pretty good.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos...

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Ahh. I know that guy, Guy (teehee). He messaged me once about friending me and possibly reading his books for review purposes.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Hm. They're not free to me, but I'll check again tomorrow. Sometimes Canada gets the free deal a little later.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

To Have and to Hold by Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller is free on kindle. Just got it yesterday.

(Sorry I couldn't put the picture up. Still can't figure out the html. :P)

Some cool apps I've been using are Hoopla and Overdrive. They connect to my library and let me check out free ebooks, audio books and movies.
Check them out and see if your library has anything connected as well.
