It's a brand new year and that means brand new reads! What are your reading goals this year? Are you trying a new genre or a new author?

Cookie (bookcupidity) I'm taking part in a year long CS Lewis reading project. I've never read any of his work (none!) and we're starting with the Narnia series. Should be interesting.

I'm also reading Lethal by Sandra Brown, and my books on deck are The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton, to finish The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness and to start Addicted by Charlotte Stein.

I have started reading The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. It was on the Library Reads top selection. When reading the main character Don I picture Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory and how he would go about finding a wife.

I am also listening to the audiobook of The Gods of Gotham by Lyndsay Faye. Historical mystery set in New York City in 1845 with the start of the New York Police Dept.

I LOVED this book and you'll find your image of Sheldon to be spot-on.

In 2013 I set a goal of reading a book a week to inspire my kids to read more. I ended up reading 230 - WAY more than I ever imagined. I set a goal of 150 books this year, but hope I will read over 200 again (currently tally = 4). Currently reading Sycamore Row.

Peyton (peyjenk) I just read Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick , which has been on my list for ages. It was hilarious. I read it in about 12 hours--it would have been quicker, but I had to sleep sometime!

Finished The Gods of Gotham by Lyndsay Faye. I actually listened to this one. The reader did a great job.

My first Neil Gaiman book and I read it one sitting! I'm still thinking about it! Great book!

Dorothea | 38 comments Stayed up last night and finished my first selection "Behind the Shattered Glass" by Tasha Alexander. Have never read her before, but thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Just finished Skinwalker by Faith Hunter. New Urban Fantasy series for me. I started listening to it but for some reason had a hard time with the narrator so switched to print.

Cookie (bookcupidity) I'm going to quite typing about what I'm planning to read and just say what I've read. I'm horrible about reading what I've planned. I get interested in something else and off I go, forgetting all my well laid plans.

I've been reading Julie Garwood, The Prize, The Bride, and am half-way through The Wedding. Continuing on my CS Lewis journey, I finished Prince Caspian. And I'm about 15% done with Ivanhoe.

Ivanhoe is probably the reason I've been gorging on Julie Garwoods and certainly why sparknotes and dictionary.com are at the top of my recent internet history.

What did you think? This has been teetering on my to-read list for awhile now.

Dorothea | 38 comments I finally got to the top on holds for Unspoken by Dee Henderson. First put it on hold for print as the ebook wasn't available yet. Then put it on hold for ebook. Of course they both came in, print first then ebook. I'm already up to 60% so, should soon have my second done for the Winter Reading Challenge

I liked it. Reminds me of Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series. I ended up reading it and not listening to it.

I liked it. It wasn't great and it was far from fabulous but it was a little better than okay.

Just finished listening to River Marked by Patricia Briggs. I loved this book! I wish Patricia Briggs would write faster because I am quickly catching up to her latest book.
