Peace, They Say: A History of the Nobel Peace Prize, the Most Famous and Controversial Prize in the World by Jay Nordlinger | pages 487 | My ReviewThe author keeps a light conversational tone about the life of Albert Nobel and a chronological parade of Nobel Peace Prize laureates and some of its controversies.
I loved this book. The chapters alternate between straight history on the prize, then one that is commentary. Some of the stories are amazing. Nordlinger almost made me understand why Arafat got one.
Finished Rising Tiger by Brad Thor | read by Armand SchultzIt’s eerie how real world breaking news echos Thor’s highly creative fictional novels.
Finished How to Hide an Empire: A History of the Greater United States by Daniel Immerwahr | audiobook | read by Luis Moreno
Completed Three Days in Moscow: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of the Soviet Empire by Bret Baier | read by Bret BaierA complementary read to my earlier Carter’s story. Baier leads the reader to the Reagan’s speech at Moscow University, the climax of his political negotiation with the USSR and thus marks the impending end the Cold War a year later.

I think we'd all be doing pretty good if we started off 2014 by spending a little time with this wonderful man. A nice book to keep by the bedside.
