I love these themes, excellent choices and I've learnt something just reading the challenge ideas. Might not pick books particularly but I have so many on my tbr that I'm sure I will come up with something for most if them!
Jenny wrote: "Did we decide whether a book can be used for more than one theme?"Yes, Laura suggested and I agree that it should be a bonus if a book can work for multiple themes!
So, how many themes can you fit with one book? I can manage a book in translation, by an author I've not read, available in large print/audio, on one of the themes. That's four! Any advance?!

I am crowning Gill queen (at least for now!) ♕ no, that is too small for her achievement...
That is more suitable!
Such as this one. Are you joking about the "bonuses" or does it somehow all get totted up at the end? After just reading M. R. James' story A Warning to the Curious I will pass on being awarded a crown though, impressive as it looks!:D
Jean wrote: "I'm finding this approach all very new. Sorry in advance if I ask rather dim questions..."You know there are no such thing - you were a teacher, if I remember correctly :)
For every person who asks, there are bound to be many others who have the same question but aren't saying anything, so ask away!
This is new to all of us, so we might not have an answer - we will figure it out as we go.

Well, if one was to list all the books that fit the individual categories during the year + add each book to all the categories it fits in (if it fits into many), wouldn't the bonus already be that you can count the book 2, 3, or 4 times instead of just once? So you move up one book in 2, 3, or 4 categories while having read just one book?
Too much? LOL. I am sure there was an easier way to explain this but it does make sense in my head, I swear!

It does in mine as well, since you count easily 1,2,3 etc...

It does a sound like a great idea but I would be a bit cautious in case there are people in this group who don't celebrate Christmas. Why not make it for all the holidays?

Yes, good point, Alannah, thanks.
We've decided to continue with three of these theme challenges as a group for 2015 - New Starts, Translated Works and Low Vision Awareness. I will archive the other theme challenge threads but not close them for comments so that they can be added to if you so wish. You are, of course, welcome to incorporate the other theme challenges into your own personal challenges for 2015.
