Welcome to our group, Adam. Do you read any female thriller author--Gillian Flynn, Laura Griffin, etc.?
Hi Marie,I've got a few Val McDermid books and the obligatory Gone Girl TBR on my shelf. I've not read either yet so can't really comment any further but I realise they both have pretty universal acclaim for their work so I'm looking forward to cosying up with them both at some point very soon. Also got a couple of Tess Gerritssen books and a Kathy Reichs one to work through. The girls are fairly well represented in my collection.
Good to know, Adam, that there is a fair (and talented) balance of males and females in your reading collection.
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys.Very much appreciated.
Would love some recommendations on new authors to try if any of you have a moment or two to spare.
I've read 'No Time For Goodbye' Karmel. Loved it. Got a few more, including his last but one, yet to read too.Not heard of Yrsa Sigurdardottir though. I'll look her up. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm a newbie here too and have to agree - Linwood Barclay is awesome! 'Trust your Eyes' was one of my 2013 top reads. Also a massive fan of Michael Connelly. Tess Gerritsen is good too - but quite gruesome, lots of autopsy room scenes! Have to say though, I hated 'Gone Girl' only managed to read about half, then skipped to the last chapter. Funny how some books grab you and others leave you a bit 'meh' :)

welcome to the group Adam. I happen to be a very big fan of Dennis LeHane. You should give him a try.
Bill wrote: "You might like David Rotenberg or Giles Blunt."Thanks for the tip Bill. I'll check them out. Much appreciated.
Rotenberg and Blunt what different mystery perspectives. Shanghai China to Algonquin Bay, Ontario. Looking forward to these writers.
Also a newbie. Favorite authors, just a sampling, are Steve Berry, Michael Connelly, David Baldacci, John Sandford and Robert B Parker. I have just discovered a new author Jamie Freveletti who wrote Robert Ludlums The Janus Reprisal. I haven't finished the book yet but so far it has me wanting more.
The mystery thriller Anonymous by Christine is getting rave reviews from her Face Book friends. You've got to check it out http://www.authorchristinebenedict.com

Currently a big fan of Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Tim Weaver, Gregg Hurwitz, Simon Kernick, Mark Billngham, Jeff Abbott and Lee Child.
I've plenty of TBR on my bookshelf though I'd love any suggestions of authors to try.
Only just joined Goodreads and loving what I've seen of it so far.
Thanks for having me.
