We are still new, but I am wondering how you all think we should organize discussions for the future. I am thinking of making a number of broad topical discussions like 'Metaphysics,' 'Eastern Religion,' History of Philosophy,' where people can just go to talk about those topics, but we might as well use the site philosophyforums.com for that same thing since they have a much larger community already. Maybe I should just make book discussions or more specific topical discussions relating to the books. Let me know what you think.

Lacrecia How about information about new, current publications (books, articles, contemporary authors -- academic and popular). Would be good to have the discussions connected to GR authors or recommended books and/or giveaways.

Classical writings in philosophy are always of interest, but most have so much published about them already...how would we keep the discussions fresh?

I briefly looked at philosophyforums.com. It seemed a bit overwhelming, but maybe with more familiarity it will yield good results. Thanks for the tip, however.

Okay, I am not very up to date in philosophy at the moment, just an undergraduate student. I am interested in reading new stuff but primarily interested in covering the History of Philosophy and the classic primary texts.

If everyone is willing to let me know of new publications, I would be happy to add those.

I am not familiar with the GR author discussions and giveaway stuff, though.

I'll also start working on making threads for current readings and maybe make more as needed from there.

I really like the idea of dividing by broad subjects... then maybe we could put the book discussions under each thread? Since we can also put in the bookshelves section where the discussion about each book is...

Slackyb (goodreadscomslackyb) | 4 comments What areas of philosophy (if any) have become big since the term postmodern was used all the time and neoliberalism was used often? In other words, what are current areas of concern?
