Alright the question is right there. What do you think?

I think marriage is a 3 person thing: God, Husband, and Wife

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 2099 comments I agree with you Paige. Not only do I agree, it's a God given fact that marriage is a holy union between God, Husband, and Wife. Have you heard of a marriage cord? Instead of lighting the candle, newly married couples interweave three strands (one for God, husband and wife) to show God that they'll put him first and honor each other.

That is such a cute idea, and a great way to show God will be in their lives. :)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 1052 comments Personally I believe it to be two person, because of the distinct lack of God...
But, unfortunately, this is actually not a topic I have researched extensively...

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 1052 comments Can't be six! Even I know that the Trinity only counts as one!

((Trinity - from "tri-unity" - meaning, three in one.))

Maybe you can explain this? A witness? Do you mean at the ceremony? Because really, in my thoughts, a solid marriage should not have a third person intervening unless things are really, truly dicey, and even then, any counseling should have the goal of helping the couple to resolve their problems without a counselor.

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 1052 comments At the ceremony, I presume.

@Jenny- yeah, other people intervening often has disastrous results on marriages.

Right. I mean, how are they supposed to live as a couple if they can't settle things between them?

Exactly.

And the person in the middle will *always* be perceived as taking a side, which will form a wedge, causing much damage to the marriage.
