Mike Lupica's "Heat" is a book that had me on the edge of my seat. This book consists of excitement, worry, fear, and interest. It features a 12 year old immigrant, Michael, from Cuba who is living with his 17 year old brother. This boy's life was baseball and he hopes to fulfill his dreams of playing in Yankee Stadium. Michael happens to be a phenomenal baseball player; so good that he can hit the ball 80 MPH and throw a fireball. However, because he was so insanely good, his rival suspected that he wasn't 12 years old and too old to play in the little league. Unfortunately, he doesn't have his birth certificate to prove he is 12; he has no way to contact his family in Cuba. I'll leave the rest for you. Will Michael fulfill his Yankee dreams?I can relate to this book because I used to play baseball as a kid, and it was everybody's dream to play in the big league. This book may also be a little hard to understand for people who aren't familiar with the game.
