The genre of the book is adventure. I really like how the author wrote the book it really caught my attention i just wanted to keep reading because i always wanted to know what was going to happen next. The setting is Los Angeles after an earthquake when everything is like destroyed. Pen who is the main character is trying to find a family and along the way realzies many truths. "thispart, this last, i dont tell hex, although i trust him enough to tell him anything-dont i?" pg.68
