I am reading Unwind by Neal Shusterman. I am hoping to read his whole series. I am also reading Just Listen by Sarah Dessen.
My picks so far are Longer Than A Man's Lifetime in Missouri (Gert Goebel), The Name of the Rose (Umberto Eco), The Venus Fixers (Ilaria Dagnin Brey). I'll have to see where I go from there...
I have a question and I hope I haven't missed an answer that may be already posted. For this challenge, can we read any 5 books or do they have to fit the theme?

They can be any 5 books but try to challenge yourself to read something that you may not always read.

I haven't identified my full list yet, but this is what I plan to start with: Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West
I have started How to Entice and Enchantress by Karen Hawkins. It's the next in line in the Duchess Diaries which I have been reading. Next up will be An Old Betrayal by Charles Finch. I haven't yet read anything by him. I also have Fever Dream by Child & Preston waiting to be read. I've been working my way through this series and I've really enjoyed it.
I am reading: One Thousand White Women by Jim Fergus (An amazing tale, like Dances with Wolves!)Blood Feud: The Hatfields and the McCoys by Lisa Alther (This is nonfiction.)
Cry Freedom by Marlo M Schalesky (About the French and Indian wars)
Into the Whirlwind by Elizabeth Camden (About the Chicago Fire)
and A collection of Journals kept by Pioneer women on the California, Oregon and other trails. (I will have to go check the author and actual title again.) Just finished it. I couldn't be a pioneer women. It took grit.

Those all sound great.

I am new to the group but have read Whisper of Warning, One Last Breath and One Wrong Step all by Laura Griffin. I just started reading her books.i just picked up Thread of Fear by Laura Griffin when I noticed this challenge. Not sure what else to read so am open to any suggestions.
Hello ~ I read
. I loved "The Girl Who Sang to the Buffalo" the best...I had to keep checking that it was indeed non-fiction, as it was so beautifully written and so magical.
After finishing One Thousand White Women, I must say it had similarities to Jane Eyre.May had several dreams that showed what was coming, plus the medicine women's horrible vision clearly fortold the end of the book. Even though May refused to believe the "nonsense" of a vision it still came to pass.
Pam wrote: "I just started the challenge and chose The Book Thief as my first book for the challenge."Good luck! :) I tried to do The Book Thief on audio and it didn't really work for me, but I hope to finish it someday in print. I got about halfway.
I was doing ok with the audio, but I had the digital copy and it expired before I got very far. :( And of course there's a hold list. So it will have to save for after the challenge. I did finish The Journal of Best Practices which was funny, clever, and had a lot of insight into persons with aspergers. It's by David Finch. I'm reading The Zoo Keeper's Wife which like The Book Thief is also set in the WWII era in Poland.
