The LAHS stadium, home of the Romans. Sport games that require a field are held here. Bleachers and track are also used for training and practices.

Lily entered the stadium, dressed in her usual cheer get-up. She was still hurt by Kegan's early statement, the one implying she was a prostitute. One thing Lillian was capable of, was holding a grudge for a long time. So she was certainly able to hold this against Kegan for a long time. Sure, he was the one who broke up with her, but she had made him jealous when he had seen her making out with another guy. What did he expect? He had broken up with her, so he didn't have any right to feel possessive over her. But if she was being honest with herself, she had hoped that at some point Kegan would see her with another guy. She had to stop, clear her thoughts. Brightening with a smile, she looked around the stadium and did a small toe touch, leaning down and stretching.
The locker room was noisy, and all the football kids jostled each other around trying to get dressed while whooping and hollering. Kegan pulled on his practice jersey over his "armor", his helmet smug over his head. He walked past the rows of lockers, avoiding flying shoes and wet towels as he tugged on his gloves. A handful of the team was already outside "stretching and warming up", when kegan clearly knew they were watching the cheerleaders out on the track go through their routines for the homecoming game. Kegan saw Lillian through the spot open for his eyes, and he not down on his mouth piece in anger. He'd get her back eventually, he knew it, but for now he'd have to sit back and watch what happens with her and her little gay boy. Kegan began to stretch with his fellow varsity players, talking casually about football plays with one of the linebackers. His main position was kicker, but this year e hoped to have the alternate of a linebacker as well.
After a few minutes of practicing the routine and and coaching the group of cheerleaders she was captain of, the things that had happened today were finally adding up. She was extremely tired from the amount of sleep she had gotten, and tired from her earlier make out session. Lily just needed something to drink, some water, to clear her mind and thoughts. She needed to have an open mind about all this. "Be right back girls." Flashing her brightest smile, she nodded at the other cheerleaders to continue practicing. Then she sneaked over to the water fountain, strutting with an extra swing of her hips. This was too much to handle, it was a good example of the straw that broke the camel's back. Lily had never understood that saying, but she did now. Leaning down, she brushed some hair back behind her ears, it had escaped her tight bun. She turned on the water, taking a deep sip of the cool refreshing liquid.
Kegan had kept his eye on Lillian the entire time, and despite the large water cooler that supplied the football kids with water on the field, he risked a jog without permission to follow Lillian behind the bleachers, where the locker rooms and water fountains were. He slowed to a walk, his cleats clicking softly on the asphalt. He kept his helmet on, since he didn't feel the desire to show her his face just yet. "We'll look who it is," he purred, yanking his helmet off and smoothing his hair back up. Kegan sipped slowly from the fountain beside Lillian's, his eye watching her reaction carefully. He wasn't sure what exactly he'd say, but he was planning to win back her affections. Their relationship had been very helpful in his jock career, and boosted his popularity.
Lily tensed as someone approached, standing up and straightening her back. Once she saw who it was, she grimaced, a scowl appearing on her face. "If this is your attempt to make nice with me, I'm telling you right now, it's not going to work." Her eyebrows scrunched up her frown deepening. Lillian didn't depend on him to survive, and she didn't need him. She especially didn't want him back after his comment earlier. Unless he paid her of course. The thought made her smile, because of course she was joking with herself. However, her scowl resurfaced a few seconds later as she caught herself. She didn't want him to even relatively think she was smiling at him, or anything that had to do with him.
Kegan took his time, leaning with one hand against the water fountain with a bemused expression. "Oh, honey..." He drawled, shaking his head as he shifted his helmet to the other arm. "I miss you and your little attitude, it's cute," he teased, raising an eyebrow as a grin spread across his face. She was smiling. "There's that smile of yours!" He said, delighted as he entry pinched her cheek. "You look much lovelier with a smile on, babe," he cringed, the scowl he knew reappearing on her lips. "My, you've changed since last I saw you, in fact, I think it's a better change!" He lied, babbling nonsense to get her to think what he wanted. This had to work. "I was thinking..." He said slowly, a smile twitching at his lips, why don't we have another go? It might work out better this time," he coaxed, his helmet now dangling from his fingertips.
A bright smile appeared on Lily's face, and she reached a hand out to place it on Kegan's arm. She stepped closer to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Oh Kegan..." She purred, tilting her head to the side and running her eyes down and over his face. "You don't know how long I've wanted you back." Lily began, carefully choosing her words. "How long I've wanted to hear you say this, just so I could tell you I don't actually want you back." Her tone started out sweet and seductive, but she ended her statement with a bit of harsh anger. "You really think you can get to me that easily?" She raised an eyebrow, backing away from him and leaning against the wall, one hand on the water fountain. "You're right. I have changed a lot. I'm not that stupid or gullible."
Kegan had gently wrapped his arms around her waist, pleased with the outcome. He listened slowly to her words, realizing the sudden change of tone. Shocked, he pulled away in hurt. "Hmm, maybe you're a bit bitchier, no?" He tilted his head away from her, appalled. "Are you admiting that you then are in fact a bit gullible and stupid?" he raised an eyebrow, laughing mockingl. She had better be careful with her words. This wasn't going to work, he'd have to try another tactic. Or date another cheerleader. "Fine. I'm sorry I asked," he sneered, backing away slowly and tugging his helmet back on.
As much as Lily hated to admit it, these words of his really sunk in. In this world, it was either kill or be killed, so she would have to go along with Kegan's little games no matter how rude he was. Kegan didn't know she was actually dyslexic in reading and writing, she preferred not to tell people. But his words really hit the mark. Before she could change her mind, she darted after him, pulling gently on his arm. "I'm sorry. There's just a lot going on right now." Being with Kegan as of late had boosted both of their popularities, especially his. She was cheer captain, she was automatically popular. On the other hand, being with him again would be better for both of them. And as she thought before, it was either kill or be killed. She would prefer not to be killed.
Kegan walked away dramatically, his mind racing frantically for another way to get back with Lillian. She was hot, rich, popular, a cheerleader, and an amazing kisser, he had to give her that much. What bait would she go for, how could he get her back? He had to admit, Lillian was one of the only girls he'd dated that he actually felt like going back to. He flinched when she grabbed his arm, an he slowly turne to face her. His helmet his the pleased, amused look that had formed. "Sorry? For what? Whats your problems got to do eith anything? I'm not here to be your shrink, I've got practice to get back to," he grunted, seeing how far she's go for him.
Lily immediately realized she had made the wrong choice, attempting to apologize to Kegan, for what he thought was no reason. She shouldn't have been apologizing to him anyways, everything had been a chain reaction caused by him. And why was she even talking to him about her problems. In an effort to remain cool and calm, she gave him a small smile. "You're right. I have a cheer squad to get back to so.." She paused, letting to of his arm and releasing him from her grasp. Maybe she did rely on other people, she was much too needy. But she didn't want to rely on Kegan. "I guess I'll talk to you later maybe?" She raised an eyebrow, before turning, and jogging off towards the rest of the squad whom where busily practicing the routine.
"Sure," he said simply, perplexed by lilys complicated thinking. this would be more difficult than he thought. Kegan coughed and spat onto the floor beside him, watching lily jog back to the stadium. He stepped inside the gate, casually strolling as if he wasn't missing practice at all. Well, that had gone sour, he thought to himself as he readjusted his jersey. He waved to one of the sophomore cheerleaders, leaning on the fence to distract her from practice by talking to her. Of course, her being one of the giggly nervous types, it was easy to win her affections. Take that, lilian, he thought grumpily as he smiled and pretended to be amazed with what her name was and how good she was at cheer. Who actually gave a number two? When he decided he had enough of her squealing, he offered to see her around school later. The coaches whistles blew in the distance, and kegan let out a curse. Leaving the girl speechless, he tugged on his helmet and sprinted back to the field.
Once practice was finished, Lily nodded a good bye to the rest of the squad. "Great job guys, see you tomorrow." She said sweetly, giving them a quick wave before jogging behind the bleachers. Lily needed sometime to think, after everything Kegan had told her. Maybe he was honestly interested in change, and interested in her. He obviously wanted her, so she would hold off any guys that came after her until he had made whatever decision he wanted. But if he did one thing wrong, Lily promised herself she would never ever take him back again. The truth was that it would be better for both of them if they dated. It was like ultimate couple, the cheer captain and a football player, it couldn't really be any other way. Then why she couldn't she see that? Peeking around the dwindling students, Lily spotted Kegan a little way's away.
Football practice had ended earlier than cheer, leaving kegan plenty of time to have showered on the lockers and change back into regular clothes. He shouldered his duffel bag full of his gear, and trudged back to the field to find that one cheerleader. "Hey, Nicole? Natalie?" He pointed at the sophomore from earlier, giving her a teasing flirty smile. She wasn't the cheer captain, but she was next in line for it. She'd have to do. A co-captain was better than no captain, right? He began discussing homecoming game, as well as the dance the day after. The girls cheeks turned bright red, and she twirled her hair nervously around her finger. He was going to ask her to homecoming later, as a surprise, if he couldn't fix things with lily.
Once her vision cleared, Lily frowned. There he was, flirting with some other girl. What a surprise. Not. How could he just do that? Go off with some other girl when one thing didn't work out. It actually hadn't even not worked out! They had been planning to talk later. The first thing she was going to do when she saw him later, was slap him straight across the face. Or maybe a punch to the jaw would do. In addition, if she did get back together with him, how could she know he wouldn't just cheat on her? She felt possessive over him, as he must have been feeling earlier. If he was going to play this game, she was going to win. Lily had always been great at games. Biting down on her lower lip, she strutted over to where Kegan was standing, before she could lose her courage.
Nicole or Natalie's face clouded over as her focus turned to something behind kegan. "Love?" He asked gently, watching Natasha carefully. He turned to follow her line of sight, and caught glimpse of lily. And she was marching straight for them. "I've got to go, Nikki," he apologized, backing away slowly from the furious sophomore towards lily. There would probably be some cat fight later. "Lily! Hey, babe," he saluted casually, shouldering his duffel and backpack once more. "What's the matter?" He asked in mock surprise. Two could play.
"Don't you babe me. If this is your attempt to get me back, it's doing the opposite." Lily said gruffly, crossing her arms over her chest. Mad could not even begin to describe how she was feeling. "If you want to play games with me, be warned, I never lose." Her eyes flashed, and she reached a hand to slowly trail it up his arm. She recognized that sophomore from cheer, and everyone loved Lily as cheer captain, so she would find someway to get that chick kicked off the squad. Then Lily would finally be able to rest, and be capable of being happy.
Kegan pouted, taking lily by the shoulders. "Oh, Lillian, don't be mad, I was just talking to her, nothing more," he purred, coaxing her gently as he slowly brought himself closer to hug her. "Games? I love games. In fact, I win them all. What's the prize?" He feigned eagerness, snorting as he shook his rad and rolle his eyes. Honestly. "Relax, lil, where's that gentle side I love?" He murmured against her ear, his hand resting on her waist. A few of the track kids who had come out of the locker room gawked alongside the cheerleaders. Their rollercoaster relationship had been quite the buzz last year. If they did it once, they could do it again.
Kegan was lucky he was such a smooth talker, and he was lucky there was an audience. Otherwise she would have gladly ripped his head off. Not literally, of course. She took a deep breath, releasing a shaky puff of air against his neck. The warmth of his breath tickled her ear, and she brought her hands to his shoulders. At this point, she wasn't quite sure what to say. So hopefully he wasn't waiting for an answer. "Kegan..." She began, her voice soft and hoarse. Their audience made the hair on the back of her neck stand up, even though she was never one to be nervous.
He could feel lily weaken under his talking, and he seized the opportunity while he had the upper hand. Dropping his football duffel, kegan wrapped both of his arms around her waist, just as he had done several months ago. "Will you be my girlfriend again?" He purred gently, his lips moving across her cheek towards hers. He could hear confusion, excitement, and nervous whispers echoing through the small crowd behind them. This would work, and he'd have his girl back, as well as a boosted high school football career.
Although Lily was a public kind of girl, she didn't want all this to be in public. But what could she expect, they were two popular kids, romancing. Who wouldn't be interested? "Yes..." She said slowly, articulating each word. "But please, don't be the flirt you usually are with many on else." Hopefully she wasn't taking things too far, but she had to say what she was thinking. Or else they would have to get back to their games, and she would make sure she won. Lillian planted a quick peck on his lips, before turning to shoo away the incoming crowd.
Kegan felt his lips upturn in a smile as she accepted his request, his lips meeting hers briefly. He had done it! His stomach did a small flip flop, before sinking with dread. No more flirting? He couldn't possibly... But he had no choice. Word would get around like wildfire, damaging their relationship. He didn't want to be like those celebrities that always announced a new girl every week. He liked it to be subtle. "Fine," he murmured under his breath, understaffing that nobody else was supposed to hear their exchange. He hoisted his duffel over his shoulder, taking a long stride to catch up to lily. His girlfriend. "Need a ride home?" Kegan asked loudly, confirming suspicions of the on lookers.
"No. I'm fine. Just going to drive around. I guess I'll see you tomorrow." Lily gave him a quick nod, latching on this arm. She stood on her tiptoes to reach her lips to his cheek. That aught to please their adoring fans. She felt like a celebrity, off with a new guy and these people were the paparazzi. At least they weren't taking any photos. "So..." She trailed off, turning her thoughts back to Kegan. "I'll see you tomorrow. Good night." She left it simply at that, turning to walk off to the parking lot, in which she would do as she said, and take a drive. In addition to trying to ignore the fact she had also used the car for a make out session.
Kegan played along, thought they both well knew that there was really no spark betweent them as much as there used to be. "Goodnight, lil," he smiled, as if this were part of his script on a movie. Everyone watched the two kiss goodbye, there eyes darting between kegan and lily as they pretended to look inconspicuous by stretching on the track. He passed by the sophomore with the N name on his way out of the school gates, and he gave a quick polite smile. Her mascara had obviously run, her eyes slightly red. She scowled at kegan at first, before it melted into a smile. "Sorry," he shrugged apologetically, before dragging himself out to his car.
Crew looked down at his phone and groaned. He knew it. He knew Lily would act like the victem aand get Kegan totally ready to murder him for no reason! Luckily, Crew had prepared himself by going to the gym and boxing a little. He enjoyed himself. A little too much. Crew felt ready though...he tested Aunt Carla and told her that he loved her, he said a quick prayer and gave Travis his will. Crew knew he was gonna get it, but that wasn't going to stop him from trying to warn Kegan.
Kegan hasn't seen crew or lily the rest of the day, which was normal for a popular kid like him. He spotted the familiar outline of crew on the field, and kegan jogged over in his football gear with helmet in hand. "Crew-!" He shouted across the turf, catching his attention. He had to get down to business, but didnt know why to say. "Crew," he repeated again as he stopped right in front of him, his arms crossed. "Did you or did you not threaten my girlfriend?" He raised an eyebrow, a slight accusing tone to his voice.
Crew took a deep breath and nodded. "Slightly...yes. But Bro...she is so cheating on you." Crew was trying to defend himself. He wasn't a liar, heavens no. He had never told any of hid friends a single lie. Everything he said was true. So of course he was going to tell every single bit of truth he knew about this girl. And hopefully Kegan, knowing Crew, would believe him. "When she came to talk to you, the way she threw herself at you looked like she was desperate and trying to convince herself everything she was doing was ok. And then the way she panicked when you accused her. Bro its so obvious. But you dont see it. I told her to watch her back, because no one messes with my friends, and gets away with it." Crew explained. Hopefully his reputation for never lying would help him out here. "Has she been acting weird? Like somethings always on her mind?" Crew leaned against the wall, watching Kegan.
Kegan sighed, crews earnest tone and reputation to be honest making kegan become convinced. He began to stretch, contemplating crews questions. "Yeah, man, it's like all the time, I can't even tell what's on her mind... But dude! I have no evidence, I can't break up with her without evidence!" He complained, torn between the two options. The more e thought about the scene yesterday, the more he knew it was true
Crew shrugged. "Talk to Lance. He said he thought he saw lily with some dude at the beach...and they were smooching up a storm. In uh those words exactly. Plus Crew, we all know she's in it for attention. I just don't want to see you hurt." He finished. "Plus, I know a few shy girls..." He said with a wink. "But really though, take my advice for once." Crew folded his arms, his lips drawn into a tight line. Please please please dump her....I really cant stand her. He thought, mentally begging. "I can come with you if you want." He offered, watching Kegan.
"Lance?" He questioned, staring in disbelief. Kegans face dropped considerably, feeling as I e had even stabbed in the heart twenty times over. That's why she had had a bathing suit. That's why she had come over at such an odd time. That's why! Crew and Travis were trying to warn him, to protect him! Kegan wasn't angry, he was disappointed. Sickened. He turned towards the cheer leaders, not seeing lily anywhere in sight. Of course, se flees. "Give me a moment," he said blankly, his face pale and his eyes distant. Kegan dropped his helmet, kicking it around aimlessly as he thought about last night. It had meant nothing to her, nothing at all. Kegan sat on the sideline bench, his head in his hands. He had tried for lily, he had tried to make it work, but she had only turned on him behind his back. Not to mention her insistence on her innocence, then turning blame onto his best friends. Unbelievable. "Crew?" Kegan calle weakly, holding out his hand for a shake. "I'm sorry I accused you. You guys were right," he said miserably, wishing it all wasn't true. "I'm dumping her, straight after practice."
Crew watched as Kegan's face completely dropped. Crew sighed, picked up his gear bag and plopped down next to Kegan, shaking his hand. "Bro, its ok. I would have accused me too. But hey, at least you didn't break my pretty face." Crew joked slightly, but shut up after word, little a comfortable silence fill the stadium, until the cheerleaders showed up. Their girlie giggles and gossiping got on Crew's nerve. If word got out that Lily cheated on Kegan, which it would, her reptuation would be ruined. No one would date her. And Crew didn't feel bad for her. At all. "Sounds good bro. If you want, you can come to my house after and we can act like girls. Eat ben and Jerry's and watch Chick flicks." He said with a grin.
After arriving at the school, her makeup fresh, Lily checked how she looked in the mirror. You could hardly tell the mask of happiness she wore. It was easy for her to fake a smile. Jumping out of her car, dressed in her cheer uniform she jogged to the stadium. She would pull him aside, tell him how badly she had messed things up and how sorry she was. But something back in her mind told her sorry wouldn't cut it this time. Being with Kegan last night had opened up her eyes to a whole new world that she wanted desperately to be a part of. Going into this, she also knew it was likely he would never forgive her. And she didn't blame him. Oh goodie. She spotted him with Crew as she entered the stadium. Lily could do this, she knew she was capable of it. Walking slowly across the stadium, Lily took one last long look at Crew and Kegan so they would know she was there. She then jogged over to the squad, getting ready to run through the routine.
Travis walked onto the field for practice. He saw Crew and Kegan having a heated conversation. Uh oh he thought. What happened now? He knew that Crew said something to Lily yesterday before he left but Crew wouldn't share the details with Travis. If Kegan found out about what he said then Crew was in for a world of hurt. Travis began making his way over to the guys so he could referee anything that would happen to go down between the two. If they started fighting now, who knows what the coach would do and they couldn't afford to loose two of their best players right before a game.
((Let's say its Thursday and the first game is tomorrow!!! And then kegan screws up badly because hes too distracted with his breakup!!! ifk Or it's Wednesday!)Kegan laughed dryly, shaking his head as his toe kicked into the turf. "I'm so done," he grumbled, picking up his helmet before getting up to greet Travis. "I'm breaking up with lily, that cheating whore," he said angrily, unforgiving. He caught glimpse of the devil herself, prancing around on the track. "Wonder where she's been?" He asked sarcastically, disgusted by her appearance. "I'll talk to her after practice. Lets go boys," he grunted, hitting both of them on thei football padded shoulders as he tugged on his helmet and lined up on the field, where the coach was taking attendance by jersey number order.
((Reply, then ff!))
During practice, Lily remained unfocused and nervous. She ran over and over in her mind the different things she was going to say to Kegan. Since he had talked to Crew, and Crew had probably already made his own assumptions, she had the feeling Kegan had his own assumptions about her. He also hadn't greeted her when she arrived, which could only mean bad things. "Great job." She faked a wide smile to the rest of the girls, giving them a quick wave as they went their separate ways. Lily had no doubt that Kegan already had his own ideas about her that were just waiting to be unleashed like a horse in the starting gate.
((Horse reference xD))Kegan finished practice, having stayed on the field an extra ten minutes to practice his field kicking with Travis, before he finally let himself be satisfied with his quality of the kicks and accuracy. He was the last one out, besides the coaches huddle in a circle talking about game plans and some stragglers working on their throws or horsing around with their tackles. The cheerleaders all bounced and frolicked alongside the boys, flirting in their high pitched fake tones. He wanted to punch them, every single last cheerleader. Kegan removed his helmet, taking the watering hose comceted to the water cooler tht the players often drank out of and dowsing his face and mouth with the warm water. He spit into the grass, taking his time as he approached lily, a disappointed look on his face. He stopped ten yards away, his head tilted slightly back in examination and his feet planted firmly in the ground, hands crossed in front if him.
Being the makeup artist she was, Lily had easily covered up the hickey Cam had given her on her neck. That had been a mistake. A big mistake, and that was when she had woken up to reality and realized how wrong what she had been doing was. This was in addition to the fact of how happy Kegan had made her the previous night. She had made a big mistake and she wouldn't blame him for hating her. Their relationship was a rollercoaster after all. When she saw Kegan approach her, she knew there was no way he hadn't already formed his own ideas. He was lucky! She could've been cheating on him for months on end, it was really no big deal. It had only been one day for god's sakes. "Hey." She called out quietly, lifting up a hand in greeting. Lily was going to kill Crew later, fry his insides.
((Fry his insides xD ()Kegan didn't even return the hi, instead walked close to lily at an alarming pace until he was directly in front of her, his chest practically touching hers. Kegan was easily taller than Lily, his slightly lanky and muscular build towering over her. "Got anything to say?" He aske coldly, his cold blue eyes boring into her skull. His jaw was tense, the soft features on his face replaced by the hard outlines of his face. She wasn't gonna get out of this, no way, no how. He couldn't back out, he couldn't give in no matter what.
((Yes >:) ))
Lily took in a sharp intake of breath, biting down hard on her lower lip. She looked down at his body proximity to her own, refusing to look him in the eyes. "I wanted to talk to you actually." She said softly, bringing her head up slowly to make eye contact. And there were the blue eyes she had learned to love so much. But they had lost their usual brightness, they were cold and boring into hers. She noted that his usually soft features and charming smile were not even close to being visible. Not even a hint of happiness. He was all business now. "I really wanted to talk to you." She whispered, her breaths coming out uneven.

Not even a hint of happiness. He was all business now. "I really wanted to talk to you." She whispered, her breaths coming out uneven.
Kegan nearly lost it, her trying to be cute while she told the truth making him tick. "Yeah, you had something to say. I get it. And what would that be, Lillian?" He demanded, his voice rising as he spoke, his voice loud and accusing. "I know what you did, lily, and it's disgusting," he said harshly, his voice cracking a bit. He felt so hurt, so mistreated, he had no idea what to do. They had gotten back together, and after only a few days- she had already cheated.
Lily chewed on her lower lip, the conversation she had practiced in her head having slipped her mind. "I messed up. I made a big mistake. And it was only one day, I realized it was a mistake. It was only once." Or twice, she admitted to herself but didn't say aloud. The second time she had immediately regretted what she had been doing. "I know who I love now. And I can explain more in detail, and I understand if you hate me and never want to talk to me again. I'll have to accept it eventually." Lily held her ground, her eyes turning hard.
"Only one day-!" Kegan yelled, outraged. One day! So that's what made it all better? "Lily, I actually tried for you. For us! I fixed myself, so that we could both be together a s a happy couple! This is not what I wanted, and I'm very disappointed," kegan said clearly, looking away from lily to mask his slightly watery eyes. "Yeah? Have fun with that- and your little boy toy!" He spat at her feet. "I'm done with you, lilian," he said with disgust in his tone, as he turned briskly on his cleated heels towards the locker rooms. Kegan wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, surprised at the sob that exited his lips. He felt awful, miserable.
Lily didn't care if she had to pummel him to the ground. Right now she had so much determination that she probably would've had enough strength to push him. It was amazing what you could do when you put your mind to it. Last night had been amazing, and it had finally made her realize what she wanted. Today with Cam had just been wrong. She needed to tell Kegan that, she had so much she wanted to say with him and she wasn't done with him that. Lily ran after him, glaring at Crew and Travis whom she saw in the shadows. "Kegan!" She yelled, a pink blush rising to her neck and cheeks. He had to give her a chance to explain herself. Luckily the hickey at her neck was completely covered with makeup, the only way someone would notice something unusual was if they noticed how much of a different complexion her skin was there.
Kegan pulled himself together, with his helmet tugged firmly on his head to hide his emotions. "W-what!" He returned the tone, annoyed she was still trying. "I'm not gonna listen to your bullshit anymore! Can't you see I've had enough?" His voice cracked miserably, and he yanked his helmet off furiously. Let the tears show, he thought, let the anger really sink in. The tears left a trail in the grime and sweat on his fce.
Lily had never seen Kegan so sad...or angry for that matter. Other than that time at Starbucks, but even that hadn't been as bad as this. That seemed like sunshine and butterflies compared to the train wreck taking place now. If it wasn't for their audience, Lily would have been in tears right now. "It's not bullshit!" She screamed, pain cracking in her voice. Lily blinked quickly, in an attempt to mask the tears that were slowly streaming down her face. It was rare for her to cry, but when she cried, she cried.
Kegan felt his fists curling, and he stared at lily in disbelief. "Then what is it. Huh? What is it?" He shouted back at her, their voices echoing around te field and bleachers. This was awful. "I don't know why you think it's okay to cheat on me behind my back, when we've both vowed to be faithful- then come sleepover at my house, leading me to accuse my friends for helping me, then- then make out with me and sleepover with me? That's not okay, lily, it's really low of you," he lowered his tone, his nose red and face soaked with his tears. "It's not okay," he repeated softly, backing away from her.
"I just wanted to get you back for..." Almost nothing, she trailed off, her tears coming out faster now. They were silent, which was a phenomenon compared to her usual crying episodes. "I got in too deep and there was no way to get out. It didn't mean anything to me. You mean everything to me and it was so stupid of me not to realize that in the first place!" She shouted as she choked on sobs. This was embarrassing. This was horrible. But this was Lily and Kegan. "It wasn't okay. It wasn't okay. Nothing I do now makes it okay. You should hate me. I don't even know why you're talking to me." She whispered, her voice coming out shaky and breathless.
"Back for what. Talking to sage? My coworker?" He swallowed, his muscles tensed tightly against his padding and jersey shirt. "I do hate you, I hope you know that." He sniffled, spitting out off into the sidelines of the grass. He could feel eyes on him, whispering, even from the coaches. But he couldn't care less. "I obviously didn't mean much-I obviously wasn't enough- if you had to go off with some guy. You haven't even fessed up completely what you've been hiding! All those times I kissed you..." Kegan spit on the grass again, cringing as if he had just tasted something rotten. Oh wait, it was lily. "Don't talk to me," he said harshly, his blue eyes flashing at her before he turned his back on her once more.
Of course he hated her. What had she expected? She had just given him permission to hate her. Not that he needed he permission for anything either. "I swear Kegan I didn't sleep with him I would never have let it get that far." The hickey was as far as it got, she thought but didn't scream out to him. "We had some good times Kegan. I'll cherish the memories." She whispered, turning around and sulking away. Lily was going to go home, and she was going to cry. Cry long and hard. She didn't want to see anyone for a long time. Lily just wanted to go die in a hole, and if she found a hole, she just might try it. Anything could happen in this crazy world. If anyone even tried to approach her she felt disappointed in herself enough to attack them. Looking down at her neck, she saw that her tears had washed the makeup away. She had to get out of here. Now. Before Kegan decided he wanted to talk to her again.
